the car is now in primer :):):) as you can guess im very happy, i have widened the rear arches by using a proper arch roller rolled as far as it'll let me but it has been filled so there is no lip on the arch just looks as if it was always there only now i can accomodate 8x16 et 10 with yokohama a048 track tyres on just about.

will get some pics up later of the work carried out next job for me is to start fitting my bits back in the engine bay and by the end of the week ill have my engine painted and ready to go back in just need to get me a manifold and stop buying wheels/tyres lol

pics will be up later

few pics of progress there also i have painted the intercooler pipes, rocker cover, brake servo, throttle body and my abs bracket in the same colour bmw grey as the engine bay i want everything grey in the bay so lots of painting to go

also new wheels that just about clear my brembo's by 1mm may need a 3mm spacer for peace of mind they have 195-50 yoko a048's on them ready for some track aciton in the near future :)

yes i cut the inner wheel arch off and welded it further up when i cut the rear arches it didn't seem as if there was any strength in it but i have alot more clearance for wheels now as the inner arch has been lifted about an inch. im sure i took a pic of the arch when i welded it ill try digging it out but it has all been sealed now so no more rusty arches for me.

big update from last week finally got my hands on a manifold bought it brand new cost me a fair few £££ but its here and on only thing is i was told they have not tried it on a mark 3 ibiza cupra but does fit a mark2 golf with a 20vt engine and 4wd so basically as the car is part mark2/3 golf should do me fine only things left to get now are:

receive my parts from ina engineering (carbon coil cover and phenolic intake gasket which i ordered 4weeks ago and was told it'll be here in 3-4 days so if this dont turn up this week il be cancelling my order with them.

buy 1 oil pickup pipe for the new manifold and also the water pipe that sits above the rear engine mount these are about 40 each from backdraft so ill get these this week and also need to get an actuator bracket sorted as there is no room for mine in the position its in with the new manifold as it'll foul the bulkhead.

get it painted i have a week off this week so after i get my van through mot its 100 mile an hour on the car its been doing my head in recently losing interest and having to go to weddings/stag parties and spending more than i should on nothing where as id rather of spent money/time on the car

yep tsr mani only thing after taking some measurements off a mates car the distance from rocker cover to bulkhead it wont fit its around 5-10mm to big, so i either have to lump hammer the bulkhead (not an option) buy a smaller turbo, get a new manifold or sell up and at this moment in time selling up seems a good option as i really cant deal with this any more took the week off to sort it out get engine all built up/running and fitted back in the bay when really i have only covered a few hours work as im always running into problems and fed up in a big way keep an eye on ebay you might see bits of my car on there.

i just want a car i can drive i am not asking alot.

Just sell the mani and get one of ours. Is it the runners that would touch the bulkhead or the turbo once its mounted?

right after losing interest in my car im finally on to getting it done the list of bits to finish it are getting smaller but more expensive and everytime i get to a set amount saved i spend it on some junk wheels, cars and stuff i dont need lol

so i have finally got my bumper filled and in primer aswel as my moulding so its not far from paint just need to get off my lazy arse and get it done but being a panel beater 9-6 every day takes its toll and i cant be bothered most of the time

rear
DSCN0622.jpg

needs spacing out all around due to the front wheels just mearly catching on the callipers and the rears are tucked in slightly due to me widening the rear arches

not much on the 'to do' list now

buy/fit/paint rollcage
buy/fit carbon fibre doorcards
fit engine+get running
paint car
buy/fit diff to gearbox ( will be done after car is on the road as i have spare gearbox)
buy/fit new valves/springs/retainers etc ( same as diff will be done while car is on the road as i have a spare head)

just read through that 'not much' haha its been off the road over a year and ive not touched it this will probably take another 3 years lmao
