Doesn't seem to be any different. But then we haven't had any issues previously - car has always been pretty much faultless......
 
Called marshalls of Leicester today to get the car booked in. Service chap check the reg on the computer and confirmed my car has been recalled. Booked in for the 29th. Simples.
 
I just sent Seat an email asking if they could give me injector part numbers to see if mine were the old Siemens ones. They rang me several days later and told me to book it straight into a dealer where they were changed along with the loom free of charge.
Coincidence but the same week I got a letter from Seat/VOSA saying there was a problem with 2007/2007 170bhp engines
 
Yeah drives smoother and up to now my average mpg has gone from around 46mpg to 50 mpg. Only had it done last week so haven't had a chance to see what it's like on a good run yet. Have to say seat were really good just the dealer I bought the car from didn't know anything about all the injector problems
 
Mine seems to be a bit smoother although I don't know if I am imagining it, however the mpg has definitely improved. The majority of my driving is on the motorway and I've went from around 50 mpg to around 55 mpg most days.
 
I've just been phoned (out of the blue) by SEAT Camberley Service Centre (where I normally get my car serviced), offering to check my '08 plate FR TDi over in light of this. Will report back what they find...
All injectors, plus wiring loom replaced FOC :)
Not seen any change in MPG though - will give it a few weeks and see if it improves.
 
I was unaware of all this. Booked the car in tomorrow to get my engine management light investigated, got a call back half an hour later telling me the injector issue has been flagged up and I've to have it in for an extra hour while it gets checked out. :)
 
Still need to be made sure, but Seat Portugal also pays up for any Injector problem on the PD170 engine.

So, if any of you brit guys come here to Portugal and that happens to you, be sure to remind them of the fact that Seat Portugal needs to pay up for any faulty injector.
 
Had the 57 leon in for service today full service they carried out the injectors recall as they called it,so all done no difference in car running was always ok beforehand.So must be seat recall now check with your dealer asap if your due them ,got no letter just done it during service?? ps car just over 4yrs old so out of warranty must be recall work!!!
 
I've noticed a big difference in MPG too. Been doing 65 mile round trips to Edinburgh and back this week and it's been hitting the high 40s and even into the low 50s at some points. :D
 
I received a letter from Seat just before christmas, car (06 FR TDI) was booked in and injectors and loom replaced within the day yesterday at Liverpool dealership.
A definate improvement in performance noticed already and so far it seems to have cured the stuttering and rough running I have had over the past few months - fingers crossed its cured!

On a down side it appears my car is eating the front tyres and backbox is due replacement.
 
Mines is back, 4 injectors & loom replaced.
Seems to run alot smoother in low revs/high gears (accel from 70 in 6th etc).
Not done enough miles to compare fuel, but was late for work this morning, so that wouldn't have helped ;o)
 
Poor cold starting since new injectors

I had my injectors replaced a couple of weeks ago and it's not been as good an improvement as i'd have hoped. Since getting the car back starting from cold has been very poor and turns over for longer than before. When the car does fire up it idles very poorly indeed. The car shudders and can take a few miles before the shuddering at idle dissapears. It's done this before but it seems to be much worse since the injectors were done. Once the car is warmed up though it is fine and drives as normal.

The car is currently in at the dealership just now getting the problem investigated but after having it overnight and for the full day they have found nothing. Like myself they first expexcted it to be a glow plug causing the poor cold start but obviously it is not. They are keeping it in overnight to see how it performs tomorrow morning starting from cold.

I was told by a friend who works for VW that they have maybe knackered the seals when replacing the injectors? Could this be the problem? Has anyone else experienced similar or can shed any light on my situation?

I don't really want to take the car away from the dealers until the problem is sorted, the dealer is 30 miles away so isn't really that convenient.

Also to add that my fuel consumption has stayed pretty much exactly the same and i havn't noticed any other advantages that others have.

I do get new injectors on Wednesday and what a improvement my mpg in city driving today was 51mpg and motorway 55mpg this is not CR engine previous driving in city was in city around 36mpg and motorway up to 43mpg...

Yeah well that's what i would have thought aswell but i suppose they could have damaged the new seals when putting them in? Maybe not though!

I've got the car back now after them having it in for two nights to see how it performed on the cold start. They reckon that it's fine and doesn't give them cause for concern, it was -2 degrees one morning aswell. I've not really had a chance myself to see if there is any improvement. They did say though that if i'm still not happy then to take it back in so i'll see how we get on and hopefully it's all ok. There was definately a problem, it was never that bad starting last year even in the really cold tempratures we had.:confused:

I think I may well have this issue. My heart sank when I saw a 27 page thread on this problem! My car cut out completely on the way home last night but started again. Luckily there were no other cars around and I was on a straight road.

I am letting the dealer come and get it and repair it and I will pay them whatever they ask. I will then recoup the money from Seat UK (if it is this issue). If it is this issue I am confident I will get all my money back seeing other reports on this thread (made my day!)

But the cutting out totally worries me as you lose power steering! That could be very dangerous even if it does only happen once every 3 years......thinking of changing to a common rail or older different engine....mainly because of my daughter..
