As you'll know by now today I had the new SFS 3" TIP fitted, I had planed on fitting it myself but the boys are AmD just could'nt wait to get their hands on my car
After a few burnt finger tip's the B5 TIP was out, They had a bit of difficulty getting the adaptor off the Turbo so I'm pretty certain I had no leak's coming from there.
B5 v1 minus the adaptor on the left, SFS on the right.
This is in no way a criticism of the Badger 5 TIP or towards Bill@badger 5, the v1 is a great bit of kit and it has moved the goal post as far as K04 tuning goes, if it had'nt been for Bill and this TIP I'm certain we would'nt be seeing the power we are at the moment.
My main concern with the v1 was the amount of joint's in the pipe work, there is (IMO) a lot of possibilty's to develope boost leak's, As you can see the SFS one is one compleat piece of pipe and there is no ally adaptor ring.
We did'nt do any dyno run's or logs but the car was an total animal on the way home from AmD, I had been getting intermitent flat spot's and some times the boost felt like it was'nt coming quite as eagerly as it used to, there are a few things this could be, small boost leak, MAF on it's way out, 20k service due soon, my imagination
we'll have to wait and see
I was given the chance a couple of month's ago by AmD to do the testing for the new SFS 3" TIP and I turned it down, I'm kicking myself now
I brought some new detailing goodies a wile ago, the main one being the bigger EZ Detailing wheel brush
New one of the left
This thing is massive
If you want to keep the inside of your wheel's clean you need one of these
