i was under the impression the PD140 was just vacuum but maybe im wrong!

My mate basically removed Boost pipes, airbox etc from down that side of engine, then reached right down back of engine and undid the pipe, because it was snapped it came out easy!

You will have to snap it to get it out, its tangled up in all sorts of wires and pipes

Maybe I'll have another look then! :)

Nah just keep looking at it, got back from knockhill last night i spent all of the time on the motorway using cruise contol and managed to get 589miles + 5 miles showing left on dash out of one tank which i think is preety good

Hi Andrew,

Are you getting more miles now due to the egr delete or because of the new map? cheers,

Well i personally think its all of the above, the engine has felt alot different since hitting 40k, they do say TDI Engines get better as the miles increase

New map is probably better than the old one anyway and the EGR seems to be helping aswell

On the way to work before all of that i would of got around 26-28mpg, thats 6 miles of dual carriage ways in MK with loads of roundabouts, i know get 31-34mpg and i havent changed my driving style

Oh ok thanks. Mines going to JBS this afternoon for the new map as well so I'll keep an eye on it after. Sorry I know you have mentioned if previously but where do you get the egr delete from?

Thanks,

Yep i do thats why i will remove some more of my interior to counter the weight

flywheel dosen twork like that

less weight on the flywheel = faster engine pick up but u also loose rpm faster

so for beter race performance u want a light flywheel but for road use probbly somthing with a bit more weight so the revs dont drop as dramatic

i know that but if i really wanted race performance i would fit a SMF + Paddle Clutch or even go the hole hogg and fit a Sequential Box.

What i want is something that isnt going to break ie not a dual mass, but i dont want on/off power

Yes but i also dont want to loose complete driveability, at end of day SouthBend kits are working out cheaper than the helix one and will still be alot better than the standard set up, Ok im going to loose alittle bit of pick up speed/down speed over the Helix kit but its still going to be better than standard. Car vibrates and rattles enough with the engine mounts.

I agree i prefer Helix over Sachs, Southbend are well documented in USA though on the likes of tdiclub.com

whats the best price you got on the helix supplied? i drove a car off here witht he helix kit fitted and it felt ace.
