According to a post on Briskoda today VOSA and VAG have finally agreed to issue a recall on all car's fitted with the affected parts. This will basically be every single PD170 in the country.

Priority will be to replace ones that have blown and then move onto cars like mine that are fine at the moment

First post onto the forum and it's unfortunately down to a bad experience :(

Recently my beloved 56 plate Leon (of which I've had from new) suddenly cut out and came to a halt. Managed to get it to my supplying dealer to have it checked out. Initial thoughts were fuel pump related but after 2 and a half days of testing and diagnostics, was found to be a faulty injector #4. Was told that the other 3 injectors wouldn't work due to this hence no fuel. Also the wiring loom, which physically runs in the engine head needed to be replaced. Total bill - £960!!! Asked them to do the cambelt at the same time as it was about due. Finally got the car back after a week off the road.

Was told by the dealer that I was extremely unlucky for this to happen as the parts are quite sparse on the VAG/Seat parts availability as they don't generally fail. The dealer took pity on me and knocked about £150 off the bill after they'd done the cambelt replacement as well. (fully recommend RM Fisher of Galgate - nr Lancaster)

Hope none of you guys have to go through this!!!!

i have got a seat 07 plate leon FR, i have had 4 x injectors & the wireing loom placed i have had a nuth of all the thing going wrong with my car. i dont know what to do beacause now i have got more lights on on the dash broad !!!!!

I have spoken with Simon today and now have both mine and my wifes cars booked in for a check and IF necessary change them. The guy at the dealer that will do the work stated that it was not ALL the PD170 engines that are affected but only those with injectors that are date stamped within a certain period (of which I am unsure). This date stamp is what he will be checking and also if there are any faults flagging up on our cars through the diagnostic check. Fingers crossed they just go ahead and change the injectors but he said that going by our chassis numbers both our cars should be unaffected and will therefore NOT get them replaced.
Any thoughts on this guys?

Cheers........Mad Jock

Ive not spoke to him on the phone yet, i work 7am-7pm or 7pm-7am so hes never available.

Hopefully you will get sorted out aswell

its actually easier to get hold of the Head of SEAT UK though he responds to emails within about 2 hours

Is it going to be a confirmed recall anyway? How do you get in touch with him through there

Can anyone tell me how much it costs Seat to do a diagnostic and replace 3 injectors? Needed for insurance claim and the invoice is 0.00.

Cheers,

Jim

spoke to simon, going for diagnostics next week and he said he cant do anything with regards to replacing the injectors until the car is on site?

I said would i still be entitled to injector replacement even if the diagnostics does not flag anything and he said we would have to wait till we are on site?
