Cheers mate.:D
To be honest mate its rarely booted or driven like a lunatic. Cars covered 32,000 miles, so there should be plenty of life left in it. I'll see how it goes.

yeah remember it will always be boosting very aggressively on this setting even if your just taking it easy thats all, great result tho!

need to get an sps i need to play :D

That looks fantastic, you must be chuffed to bits. It looks like the perfect stance, i be aiming to get mine looking the same.

no not got the sps mate had mine setup by JKM with the settings they road tested it when they mapped it for the best road setup, and so it won't go bang on me (i wanted all the settings maxed lol) but they advised against it for the life of the turbo etc can't afford to replace that! eek!

yeah just had some window tints done last week 30% back 5 windows, looks good on black so pleased with that, got road tax due and insurance so still can't get to the good mods below

Still need to sort out some Forge Spacers see you got those nice!, + Liquid Boost Gauge then sort out a handling kit may change the springs for some coil overs at the same time that will be next year now though you can keep on and on with these cars i would like to do everything mentioned then just enjoy it, its running well at the moment though also might look into swapping out for a new N75 just to be on the safe side

My motor was running boost 7 timing 6 when I first got it and it was running sweet so really no need to change if your happy with it.

I doubt I'd be able to run timing at 9 as I'm getting a few knock values of 3 at timing 8 although I fancy giving the 2 litre coilpacks a go with the INA adapters as Robdon is running these and is no longer seeing knock on any of the cylinders:D

Spacers are awesome really improve the stance and the coilover are amazing, I highly recommend the setup I'm now running. I know what you mean about going on and on i'm struggling to stop spending money on it now:D

I feel your pain with the insurance and tax, paid my insurance end of July and now the Tax is due.:(

some observations on those relative runs between dastek and dyno dynamics
The Dastek is on ramp rate 2, which is a slower rpm/min acceleration rate, and quite a long run to me.. (too long, although the car made excellent power)
The dynodynamics quick run is too quick imho... nothing gets a chance to stabilise and is not representative of how that car would accelerate in real world same gear.

I would expect quite different results just as a consequence of this alone

When teaching the Dastek the 3000rpm in test gear point, it looked like rev counter was the reference.. where I use vagcom logging actual engine rpm to exactly sit at 3000rpm before confirming. Needles can vary more than you imagine compared to vagcom actuals.

All part of the good ole Dyno Lottery of course.

Nothing of interest going on at the moment but thought I'd post an update anyway. Car tax has been my most recent big expense:(

£260 and the roads around here are :censored:. I was travelling along a dual carriageway on Friday, there was a massive dip in the road and I dislodged the front passenger side of the undertray [:@]. Its now currently held together with cable ties until I get the right bolts to secure it back together. Luckily that seems to be the only damage done.

Also purchased a new air scoop, thanks to Sam:

Although some of you know I have the R32 DSG intake, the thinking behind this is, due to the pipe work for our intercoolers the headlight surround for the DSG intake wont fit so you have to modify the OEM one to accept the DSG pipe:

Now this is probably all well and good with a closed airbox but with a cone I cant imagine much air is getting through the OEM headlight surround. So the new air scoop will be connected up to the DSG pipework and we'll see what happens. If its no good then it'll go back to how it is now and the scoop will be up for sale. Nothing ventured nothing gained:D

Also thanks to a link in James23parkin's readers ride I've purchased a new dipstick handle, cheers James:)

I think I'll be ordering some Lamin-X in the near future thanks to Sam to tint my rears lights.

Thanks for looking:)

Ah, I thought you did have the R32 headlight surround on your car already? So have you just got the snorkel pipe that goes between that and the airbox, with the standard LCR headlight surround?

That air scoop is awesome where can I get one from

I'm not sure you can get them anymore, I bought this off sambryant.

The headlight surround wont fit mate, you have to cut the piece off as above and modify the OEM one. The DSG headlight surround fouls on the SMIC and I doubt it'll fit with an FMIC as the pipework is in the same place. If you remove the battery it should all go in but everything is such a tight fit down there. (I didnt realise this until another member got intouch to query how mine had been fitted as he couldnt get his to fit).

Heres mine with the R32 piece attached to the OEM headlight surround:

I still think it'll work well with an airbox though.

Ah right, I thought they were a straight swap. I knew I'd have to take the battery and bracket out to change it but didn't realise it might involve hacking the parts up and back together.

No problems Richard. I couldn't belive the cost of the dipstick handle tbh, in comparison to others we've all seen. Received it in the post this past week, and it was fitted today. Quick job with nice results; very well machined and finished :)

I had one of those scoops previously. I think they were made by Feel off of here a while ago. They fit really well, but the width of the scoop is quiet wide and with a neoprene ducting on, there's literally no space between that and the battery cover. I made a couple of battery relocation brackets, just to shift the battery back and inch. However, you might be fine.

Look forward to seeing it all plumbed in :)

Dam it, ill have to keep a look out for one as I deff need more cold air to my filter

Sorry to put this on your thread Richard... I hope you don't mind?

Aaron, I think I have mine in one of my boxes in the shed. Do you want me to dig it out for you? Send me a pm if you do. Wouldn't want anything for it, just postage...

James :)
