well i have a my10 so i'll be able to confirm this on saturday, i dont know why being my10 or my11 should make a difference to the canbus or the fact that i have xenons?

Just fitted the Car Mod LED lights to my 2010 FR without any problems. Very nice white light and no canbus errors!

added at the weekend, no errors at all, even changed my reversing light for the LED one too, its a bit brighter and whiter instead of yellowish but not much of a difference in output.

Sorry to drag this back up, but I am now interested in some LED bulbs, and have ordered some DRL bulbs as per Gainfuls other thread.

However, I am not keen on 6000k blue sidelights, and am less keen to be arsing around with resistors for the Phillips side light bulbs at 4750k.

Anyone got any links to canbus friendly Xenon colour (4-5k) side lightbulbs?

Also, has anyone bother with LED indicators and brake light bulbs?

I understand the reluctance - I didn't want to mess with my wiring either - but the resistors that I use with the Philips sidelights couldn't be easier to use. They are wired up already - a bulb holder at one end and a bulb connector at the other, so there's no cutting/splicing or whatever... just plug your LED module into one end and plug the other end into your car's bulb holder. :)
The only faffing is due to the resistor module's bulb holder not having the extra lugs on it to clip into the reflector, so you have to use ingenuity/blu-tak to get it to stay in the correct position in the reflector.
I managed it fine, and I'm crap with stuff like that! :D

I haven't bothered with LED indicators or brake lights as I figured they wouldn't work too well... I reckon the brake lights use fancy reflectors and/or light pipes to give that LED-esque look and if you had a more diffuse/random light source (rather than a strong single point source as per a normal bulb) then it'd look crap. Only a hunch though.
The indicators might well work as the reflectors are much simpler for those...

If you're going to be using LEDs for brakes or indicators, make sure to use red and amber LEDs respectively, though. White LEDs can make your brakes look pink, so I've read. :gay:

I've just got a set of the xtec resistor leads as I've tried several "canbus" ok led lights without luck.. Just been testing out the resistor kits on a desktop power supply with some 2 led side lights and noticed the resistors get quite hot (to hot to touch) checked the current draw of the led board and is pulling 70mA using the resistor leads the combined draw is 220mA sothe resistor is drawing another 150mA at 13.8v (guess thats why it's getting hot)..

Anyone had any issues with the xtec resistor leads getting to hot?? Had them running on the bench for 30mins and the temp seems to be stable at around 60 deg C.. Just a little worried their gonna be close to the H1 main bean which also gets quite warm!|

I wish could find some led 501 style side light bulbs to work on my cupra. I've bought both canbus and non canbus onea and both do the same thing. they come on for about 5 seconds before going off. it annoys the hell out of me having yellow side lights against my HIDs.

If you get the xtec resistor leads and some canbus OK LEDs you should be fine.. The problem is that even the CANBUS OK LEDs don't pull enough current.. A normal 501 bulb draws around 400mA but even an 8 LED CANBUS replacement will onlt pull just under 200mA.. In order to "fool" the system you need the resistor leads to get the current draw closer to what a bulb would draw..

Help!!

Like GainfulShrimp and others I'd like to lose the candle like light of the other bulbs when compared to the factory fit Xenons.
I've read and re-read this (and GainfulShrimps other) thread and the more I read the more confused I get...

As a lot of the links are dead can someone please confirm that the following available ones will work in a 2010 FR with Factory Xenons....

DRL replacement bulbs...

(these don't look right to me shapewise, and I know you need to select from the drop down menu.. can anyone suggest an LED alternative?)

Stop n tail, indicators, suggestions appreciated...

Thanks in advance.

First link to the car mod shop DRL's are the one 's I got. They have been ok until recently when one of the strips failed.

Ordered some slightly different one's which are brighter - or suppose to be.

Interested in seeing one of those new fancy looking one you linked as a reversing light.

off topic guys why dont actual companys i.e seat make led bulbs as standar, or sell them as an extra then it would save on all this trial and error stuff????????????? just a thought!

I have 6000k HIDs installed (hids4u.co.uk). Looking for some sidelights that look the same colour as mine look naff with the white/blue and then the yellow sidelights. Tried philips bluevision headlights and they are still very yellow.

I want some that don't look blue either, dont want additional resistors either as they are a mess on and then they get hot and potentially burn something.

Any ideas would be great!
