And also how is white on marks and scratches is it as bad as black?? as silver is meant 2b great for not showing marks and scratches and dirt etc.

Why not just get the colour you like. I find it strange some people can't make these decisions by themselves!

Just get some pics up and choose the colour you like best, end of the day scratches are scratches even if others wont see them you will know where they are and they will still bother you.

White is no where near as bad as black. Black shows up scrathes etc very easily and if metalic paint gets damaged it is more expensive to repair. White is the most easy paint to live with as far as I am concerned. I am not biased at all though hehehehehee

If white stays as popular you won't notice a difference in retail value, white isn't as bad as black, but silver is the best not to show marks.

So the re-sale value wont make a dif between a non metalic and metallic painted car then? I notice lil marks and like an OCD thing really gets me mad etc so myb silver is the way 2go if it shows less scratches and marks then white.

From the VWFS auctions I've been to, the non-met Candy White cars are popular and fetch more than the regular metallic coloured ones.

white shows up the dirt/ flies/ etc more and doesn't stand out when polished up
black shows swirls/ scratches but looks great when detailed (until dust settles on it)
silver is difficult to colour match perfect if you need any paintwork doing and looks great when detailed
red looks bling when polished but can fade when a few years old if not polished regular
blue (dark) - same as black
blue (light) looks ok but doesn't seem popular although the speed blue on the cupras looks good

Really?? the dealers said to me getting matallic paint can add £2000 when u come to sell your car at a later date altho im sure they would say that lol and few garages have told me that also. Im jus not sure if white gets as dirty like black does and if it shows up marks like black does as silver hardly shows any dirt or marks.

SILVER :D

dealers want to sell you matalic as it costs more so they get more commision (they work at commision on overall profit)

Yea true true jus wanting the best colour that dont show marks n scratches as my black ibiza did and was the main reason 4me trading it in etc altho white looks good as theres a few round my way iv been told they get as drity n marks as a black car where as silver doesnt

Sounds like you have made your mind up.

Personally I wouldn't worry about speculative trade in values, just buy the car in the colour you like.

White all the way for me.

Had 2 Candy White Ibiza's so I decided it was time for a change although I love the white I decided to go for a Red car this time round... I do like them now the more I look so go with what you like the most and don't worry about cleaning and what not as you probs clean it enough not to show too much dirt.

Go look at the colours thread in the FAQ and pick the one you like and would be most happy to walk out to in the morning/would make you turn and have another look before you walk in the house (mine still does almost 2 years on and I made my colour choice based on the configurator representation without ever having seen Ada Blue in the flesh, let alone on an Ibiza)

Sod what everyone else thinks, especially people who've bought white cars
