As we have still winter here in Latvia, and I can't get correct module fast enough but got module form Kodiaq (5Q0953569B) laying around, I decided to use it. So Wiring pinout was same as needed, but unfortunately it not fit to the stalks. I was lucky to get very cheap stalks from Tiguan (5Q0953502AJ) that fits these module. I was need to cut one place to fit it on steering column, and wuola, I got heated steering wheel again. :sneaky:
Nice job! I was wondering whether those Skoda modules will fit in Leon. Good to know that there are some alternatives for those rare 5Q0953549B or 5Q0953549D modules.

Just one thing is when turn ignition on, it drops fault about heated steering wheel in VC, but immediately disappears. Heating works ok, and all 3 heating levels are working ok (instead aliexpress module have only 1 - max heat). In OBD11 error it is like something about temperature sensor, but in live data it shows correct temperature. So for now I leave like it is, but later when some correct original module will be available for reasonable value I will get one for sure.
I have found some information in the polish form about this fault (Google Translated):
Unfortunately, these 5Q0953569B drivers have this. Valeo *****, and even new cars that left the showroom did that. The only solution is its successor 5Q0953569C or replacement with a controller from Kostal, which in turn involves replacing the mounting and switch assembly.
I belive the "Kostal" ones are 5Q0953549B or 5Q0953549D

Relax! There is a lot to check and change in order to make it work, especially if you have installed used parts. My guess is that you have coding for accessories that your car is not equipped with. That's why cruise control is not working and you have those warnings on the dashboard.

First of all what kind of cruise control do you have, normal or ACC? Look in Module 19 (Gateway) -> Adaptations -> Multi Function Steering Wheel Control Module - Version and change it accordingly to you equipment (GRA or CCS for standard cruise control, ACC for, well... ACC)

Next you should check long coding of Module 16. For me worked value 0C 10 for DSG and 0C 20 for manual gearbox.

After each change turn ignition off, remove key and turn ignition on again in order to let modules adapt to itself. If this does not help then please provide autoscan and we will try other things.
Sooooooo ! I finally bought it try your suggestions! And it works ! No fault and regulator now work perfect ! BUT ! HEATED STEERING WHEEL DOESN'T SHOW UP 🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲

So I fixed problem with Kodiaq 5Q0953569B module about temperature sensor... It was software issue. So need to update software 0245 to 0265... This update file its not so easy to find but somehow luckily I managed it. Now everything works as it should.
p.s. This update also works for Octavias and Tiguans and etc., who have same error with this module.

Sorry, but we don't have crystal ball to determine what might be wrong. Verify whether you repinned connector correctly and whether there is a voltage on new wire from fusebox without ignition. Is it also possible that this mod does not work with pre-facelift cars...

https://de.aliexpress.com/item/1005...357403-06764-UneMJZVf&aff_platform=msite&m_pa ge_id=oyllhvlarscadxha18fe17322521e7ec2911139213&gclid=&pdp_npi=4%40dis%21EUR%2117.34%2117.34%21%21%2118.47%2118.47%21%402103080517174743701168404e479b%2112000032753501257%21sea%21AT%210%21AB&algo_pvid=7ca97bb3-a8e9-46fc-88d5-95526c2f5fd4

Machen Sie keine Werbung für AliExpress, aber es funktioniert fehlerfrei. Ist besser verarbeitet als von kufatec

I carried out the conversion myself using the AliExpress control unit. I also carried out other conversions. All control units from China work for me without any problems.

I can only report positive things

Yeahm for me and @grabania it also was working great, some time... Just its steering module, from aliexpress. If its can stop working steering heat, or other thing, it can probably also blow Your airbags out with no reason, or opposite, it can stop work airbag blowing - newer know... Aliexpress its like 50:50 for everything - its no warranty there.
For wirings from aliexpress, till this time I have no problems with that, but I check the wiring pinouts at receiving harness to be sure that I will not burn something down...

I wanted to share with you my collection of data that I am hoarding for some time now (something about one year I believe 😅). I am trying to collect as much information as possible about available steering wheels, multifunction buttons, clock springs and multiswitches - mainly for retrofitting heated steering wheel to Leon MK3. Each information was confirmed by searching through Google and inspecting available photos on the Internet. Question marks means that the part exists, but I wasn't able to confirm its features.

If you have any information about missing data you can comment in the shared doc or DM me here. List is definitely not completed, so probably I am going to update it with more data in the future.

Cheers!

Hi Grabania,

In Your list there also is clock springs 5Q1... which are with LIN communications instead of CAN, are they working on Leon MK3, if Yes, is there any instructions of how to install it?

Das ist vermutlich eine allgemeine Liste und wird mit dem Retofit keinen Bezug haben.

That's a great question to which I don't know answer yet, but I also want to know. There are a lot of differences between 5Q0 and 5Q1. Here is a rough list of differences in Polish - sorry for that, but you should get the idea what I am talking about. 5Q1 has a lot less terminals connected to it compared to 5Q0.

FYI On the list there are 5Q1 clocksprings because they were installed in Leon MK3 manufactured after 26.11.2018.

Ich habe in der Garage einen mit Baujahr 2018 ohne 5Q1, sondern mit 5Q0953549F.

Auch falsche Theorie? MJ18 auch nicht eventuell MJ19?

Wobei ein Kollege hat MJ19 auch mit 5Q0

Sorry Baudatum überlesen
