I agree, is your engine playing aswell yea_good_1? Im starting to think its just a matter of time before mine does, especially since iv just had Revo done.

vRSy, whats the difference between the 2.0 TFSI and the 2.0 TSI?

2.0TFSI came in 2 forms. 200ps had k03 and 230ps had k04 turbos. fuel pump was the same on both but the k04 TFSI had better injectors. this is the older of the mk5 GTI/cupra VAG engines. The 2.0TSI has only one variant of turbo and has a much higher rated fuel pump as standard. the tfsi had a major weak point/restriction with the high pressure fuel pump when mapped. This is what is found in the facelift octy vRS and mk6 golf GTI

The new TSI does not suffer any fuel issues at all and can manage 20bar more pressure.

If the injectors from the 2.0TSI fit the 1.4TSI then we might be in for the win.

FWIW it might be a straight fit. for example the RS4 injectors were a direct fit for the 2.0TFSI. Only issue was the spray pattern wasnt optimal, could be a similar scenario with the 1.4TSI

has anyone actually done more than 20k miles in there cupra/boc?

im at 11k miles and not had any problems as of yet.... but i havent had the revo map. only got the bov on there, and thats easy enough too take off if any problems do occur.

are you going to try and see if there are different injectors possibilites such as the 2.0TSI/2.0TFSI etc?

Ah I see, thanks for clearing that up. So have they ditched direct fuel injection on the new TSI engine?

It would be great if the injectors from it are just a straight swap, would we need to swap the high pressure fuel pump aswell? Hopefully someone can find out soon if this is possible.

UPDATE - still waiting for the Wossner forged pistons from germany, should be made when designer returns from holiday. going for forged rods, INA sending sample from america to check fitment, or source from UK firm. decided to fit Forge cooling pipe kit in blue and full blowoff valve. meanwhile, driving suzuki alto 3 speed auto - better than walking, just.:(

Hopefully you will be back on the road soon! Am I correct in saying that the 1.4 TSI engine already has high quality Mahle pistons as standard?? If you look in the Revo section they explain the troubles with these engines and why they are caused.

Keep us updated :)

1.8T and 2.0TFSi engines are available for less than a grand. If they could be made to fit it would be awesome, bombproof engines.

Would need custom engine mounts nd exhaust, not sure if the gear boxes would match up though,

I think if mmine bblew i would be tempted to go this route for piece of mind. Also 280hp in a car weighing 1150kg would be insane

Me and my mate wer looking At an audi a1 with a 2.5tfsi engine in and they said it fitted on the same mounts as the 1.4tfsi that came out of it! :)

It was that crazy A1 that was in the car mags a month or so back. Doubt the DSG would match the 2.0 ask INA they'll know.

they prob wouldnt tbh, they have never had a 1.4TSI in canada/USA, nor seen the engine bay constraints of the cupra/Fab etc

thought of this months ago, GTi engine with 6 speed DGS would solve all problems, but the quote I got to fit and wire in was 10K!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! slight lack of 10K meant a rethink on that one.:(
