who are producing the pistons?

Are you lowering the compression ratio as well? Also have you looked into uprating the piston rods as well. These are normally the weak point in VAg engines and what normally bend first when running big power.

Are there any uprated injectors on the market yet?

You should get them to balance and lighten the fly wheel while they're about it and port and polish the head............ then a new custom map woohoo!!!

could also look into having the cams reprofiled, and might as well port and polish the head seen as its going to need bead blasting and cleaning up.

LOL at some of the suggestions here.

Only thought regarding the injectors is if the fitment is the same as the 2.0TFSi's - that would be a stroke of luck.

I would, do the same as there must be wear on the cams now as well. Just one question and please dont get all pedantic and condescending people, are there after market cams now available for these engines? Just asking like:confused::confused:

I would hope there are tbh since this engine has been around for some time now. Cams are defo the way to go if your gonna port the head.

I am surprised the tuning fraternity have not gone down this route yet alont with the re maps that are out there. I had lots of plans for mine but its on its way in December 2 years old in January. Been fun but have driven better recently. ;)

Abarth Punto Evo EsseEsse, just taken it back to the dealers. I actually love it! Was gutted it went back. Had all the extras on it. If you buy the Esse Esse kit for them you get to keep all the parts they take off so thats two sets of wheels one set of 18"s and a set of 17" claw wheels, oh and the interior omg gawjuss and the seats, unbeliveable, hold you totally in place. One nice car.

Now in a very small voice.................. Scirocco, 2.0fsi was just beautiful its going to come down to the money its either a brand spankers Abarth or the year old Rocco with all the toys.

One or the other. Decisions decisions. right going to start a general chat thread........... pole time

have you ever driven a car with reprofiled cams? Its not all its made up to be. The power band is then narrowed or moved around and getting the right balance is hard. tickover is rougher etc, its really not a nice experience and i would never do it again. The OEM cams will be the best balance for all round driving.

maybe not the TFSi engine, but id imagine we could be luckier with the 1.8TSI or the 2.0TSI engines as theyhave the newer fueling systems

Sorry frankly do not agree with what you said, it comes down to the builder and what you want from the build. Yes OEM will be fine as a daily daily but if you want to wring performance out of it then it is a very good option. As to the drives actually yes, many of mine have had this done, and here they are some of my old cars from the last 28 years of driving (not including the dodgy stuff on the farm when I was under age

First Car Mk1 Cortina 1500GT with 1275 gearbox off the mark like its arse was on fire but no top end due to the gearbox ratios. Scary to drive it was column shift!

Lotus twin cam Cortina Mk1 (was dads) He had the 3.1 litre Savage with the Essex V6

Escort Rs2000 Mk1 2.0 Pinto Kent cam ported gasflowed head stage 2 Race engine built by my dad and I.

Escort RS2000 Mk2 droop snoot 2.1 pinto conversion, too much pimp to list.

Escort RS Turbo S1 B Plate 1750 cc again would fill the page with the mods

Escort RS Turbo S2 H Plate Pimped to death started as a daily drive then track car.

Sierra 3 Door Cosworth on D Plate full race rebuild courtesy of Vulcan Engineering big up to them and still going strong that car was awsome !! Wish i could buy it back

Focus ST 170 3 doorfull top end rebuild with new cam and custom re map.

Focus RS Mk1 53 plate then the new baby turned up sold it again too much work to list.

Another ST170 5 door fairly standard just breathing and remap

ST2 loads too much to jot down

Current Boconightmare very little forge bits and Revo

Current RS Focus Mk1 53 plate again mostly standard shared daily drive. Re mapped, exhaust, intercooler induction and thats it

There have been others like the Pug and the missus RS1800i Fiesta RS Turbo, Integra and the Bimmer. Car family we are.

So where does the carophile come from in me? Dad bless him worked for Ford and part of his time with them was working with AVO particularly on the Escort twin cams build and design team of the 70's Then time at Dagenham again, oh and on some stuff for the RS200

I love my cars just try not to rattle on about em so much:D

reference the engine warning light that guys get flashing up, quite a few fabia vRS's seem to have had it flash up on stock engines

They need to get to the bottom of these engines being so shite and fix it getting sick of all of these problems doing my head in my car is on the way out I think aswell looking at getting rid unless a definitive answer turns out and all the engines get fixed through a recall really at the end of my tether just look at the internals of Pauls engine that's ridiculous for a car of that mileage and age and being that regularly serviced :mad:

I agree, is your engine playing aswell yea_good_1? Im starting to think its just a matter of time before mine does, especially since iv just had Revo done.

vRSy, whats the difference between the 2.0 TFSI and the 2.0 TSI?

Yea feels down on power destroyed a set of plugs which I put in it beginning of April sooting the back of the car up worse than ever doing my head in love the car just don't know why the engines are so crap
