Ibizaracebrake, sorry to hear that mate. I was wondering was there no safety net from the remap to put you in safe mode once it detected that injectors were not spraying fuel?
To the people wondering whether this has to do with stage 1, 2 or 150, it really has nothing to do. it was tough luck that injectors failed and engine run out of fuel.

The engine won't monitor individual AFR's for cylinders, just the output across all four. So if an injector went down (which it sounds like it must have practically stopped all together) then the ECU would have increased the fuelling on the other three (within limits) before logging a fault.
I am confused all injectors failed at the same time or only 1? If all failed at the same time couldnt this mean the problem is with the fuel pump?

personally fitting the standard seats ect back in and taking it to a dealer is the best and by far the cheapest option.i dont think it needs the forged engine it was an external component that fail that then snowballed into something very big. its the fueling setup in this case that needs changing and maybe everyone elses with a cupra/boc

I had my last Seat 7 years/70,000 miles. Lack of dealer history had no effect on value. As for wanting something better, do I really NEED a car that gets to 60mph quicker than 4.99 sec?
Got Email from TSR with some pics of dismantled engine, looks like thick carbon deposits in combustion chamber and piston crowns may have been reason for failure, although its worth pointing out I drove the car there over 100 miles with no smoke, no warning lights, and running on all cylinders. If I forward email to someone could they post best pics? Ta.
It makes more sense to me now seeing it and tying it in to what the guys at REVO explained to me. That is the result of the injector spray pattern being altered from buils up on the injector nozzle. This in turn deposits fuel on the piston head which does not detonate and causes all the buils up. racebrake, were the rings also shot on that piston by the way? The pictures are not clear enough so I can't say for sure but apparently that is what fails and eventually causes the piston to fail too.
Jesus those valve stems are coked and as for the shells, they are mangled! Big re build but satisfying when done.
Done a test drive today, got a demo car for the weekend. Italian.............. and I loved it!

Forged pistons are double price of standard factory replacements, good clip on youtube to show how they are made, 'Race Pistons - How are they manufactured?'
They look so pretty as well when new, when i used to build race engines i always used JE Pistons. All the best, good luck with the project
