PD170 Stuttering Problem Solved

I switched from CC to S4ark Performance a while back, after a turbo failure with the CC map and JBS physically breaking my pressure sensor pipe and destroying the thread on my EGT sensor.

I have been running a slightly milder S4ark map to workaround the stutter issue and indeed it hasn't happened once with this map. It's been brilliant actually.

I am getting a more aggressive map flashed tomorrow with the new stutter fix incorporated. Can't wait! Gotta love S4ark's work. :D

Did you have the Mild or Wild CC Map?Car feel more powerful or less with S4ark? let us know how the aggressive map feels

I Do want to get rid of Custard Code as its impossilble to work with them as a tuner (ie i wanted to add EGR Delete etc) but there map (apart from the stutter) has been spot on, and i dont want to loose any power at all, if anything i want more

Would still like to see a RR graph for S4ark De-DPF as still not seen one, seen plenty of JBS ones but none of this so called good tuner S4ark

I've got one on paper somewhere at home. I will be getting one with the new version of the map in a few weeks.

I Was invited down to ***** to test out there map,i just havent got the time to do it but what i was hoping to do was, Meet Ben (S4ark) at a local RR, Run my Car with Custard Code and get a figure, Let Ben put the S4ark Code on it, Run my Car with S4ark and get a figure!

If the S4ark figure on that RR was better than id keep the Map, If CC was better id get him to put the CC one back on,

Im fully aware that figures arent the whole story and "how it drives" are also very important but im quite happy with the way my CC Map drives, Just want more power and better customer service than that of Jl3s/CC

i dont think he would be abel to put the cc map back on as its all locked think the only thing they can do is overwrite it

so ones its gone its gone

not 100% on this but i think cc made it so it carnt be saved so it dont get coppyed

Not true - we flipped back and forth between them for back to back comparison.

As far as im aware Diesel ECU's can hold 2 maps anyway, I know on the PD130 you can switch between maps by changing a Number in a setting on VCDS. so i would imagine this is the same

The CC maps is locked so it carnt be edited or copied

On the Bosch ECUs yes, not on Siemens as in the PD170.

I have seen the CC map taken from my car and opened in an editor.

well if thats possible can just get sum1 to edit your cc map for more power and the dpf setings will still be 100% the same

It's absolutely brilliant. I've had various iterations of DPF-off maps on my car since summer 2009, starting off with a couple of Custard Code ones and nothing comes anywhere close to this. It's stunning. Incredible performance and no stutter, even really trying to provoke it on fast shifts from 3rd to 4th when really caning it.

BRB - just testing another iteration of the map to squeeze a bit more performance still - at 22:45!!! Gotta love S4ark - Ben's a man who's dedicated to his craft. :D :D

Just got home after another couple of map tweaks and test drives. It's sensationally good now. I just can't get over what the pd170 is actually capable of.

Finally I'm truly happy with this car. I didn't think I'd be saying that this time last year.

Looking forward to getting this dyno'd now. Won't be for a few weeks yet though.

Im adding a Clutch + SMF and Engine mounts soon so i want extreme Torque :D

I have the above map fitted and it definitely solves the stutter problem. Ben's a top bloke and his company appears to have the PD engine covered in terms of tuning performance and reliability.

Where are you getting it rolling roaded? Do you know which map you have had installed? We probably have the same one.

i doubt its the same map but tbh all maps are enough the same just depends on fueling and boost and with these cars boost is set at 1.6bar and then it depends how much smoke your happy with

its goin to rs-tuning for a power run
