REVO Stage1 Leon Cupra R with added Quaife goodness plus more.....

Just read this all the way through!

TOP WORK! :)

cheers man.

still waiting on the replacement N75 valve arriving at the moment.
due to a change in personal circumstances its a case of getting the car running 100% healthy and sorting out any niggles before i consider an offer of exchanging it with my brother unfortunately.

i'd love to keep the car, but its looking like it has to go :(

if i could keep the car i really would :(
but fatherhood is fast approaching me now, won't be long before i have a little one bouncing about, december isn't that far away i tell you.

on the plus side tho, my brothers fabia vrs will suit me perfectly, still has 5 doors, still goes pretty well considering its still not remapped, its got all the mods required to go stage 2 bar the clutch :) and i'll be moving from the shire through to edinburgh so need a diesel to commute to work and back at Hunterston until i get a transfer to Torness Power Station

i know that the LCR will be going to safe hands though, my brother looks after his cars and will buy only the best for her, least this way i can still get the occasional shot every so often :p

Shame to hear your having to get rid of the car sean, but as you said itll be staying in the family and being looked after, and youll have plenty fun in the fabia im sure!

oh believe me, i will have fun in the fabia. its not for certain yet, but i'd rather do the swap than try and strip the car of a lot of parts and sell the car on.

i know for a fact that if my brother gets his hands on this car, it will turn into an animal! i reckon a big turbo would be on his list lol, he has more money than the bank of scotland :cartman: but he is still trying keep money by as he is unsure how secure his job is at the moment.

cheers willie,

wouldn't say its much of a downgrade from the LCR to my bros fabia vrs..... its an 06 plate finished in magic black and already has the weitec hicon gt kit, custom 2.5" decat exhaust (which actually sounds really good, almost like a petrol), custom fitted focus st fmic, pd160 intake, green cotton panel filter, seatsport upper strut brace, rear windows tinted & 17" audi tt 6 spokes finished in anthracite and wrapped in yoko prada tyres.

massive plus points for me tho are:

- between 45-55mpg compared with 25-35mpg
- £125 a year road tax compared with £245 a year
- £600 insurance premium with mods & points declared compared with £900 insurance premium with mods & points declared.

heres hoping he is still interested after checking his insurance out  that might be a sore one for him since he is only 21, been driving 2 and a half years & has 3 points for speeding.

sean the lcr is a perfect family can mate trust me :D and congrats
it is perfect for a family, but when you are gonna have a 150mile round trip to work everyday its not. i make that out to cost me around £35 a day, which is £175 a week, which is £700 every 4 weeks, just to go to work! i might as well set my wage slip on fire when i get it  and thats with current petrol prices. i have no idea when i will get a transfer to a closer power station, it could be months, it could be years. if i got a transfer straight away i would consider keeping the LCR tho.

believe me, if i could keep the LCR i could, its the financial benefits of running a cheaper car i need. i need all the money i can get...... babies are expensive lol

cheap runner mate you'll regret it , babys cost mate try 1 at 11 an 1 at 17 you need deep pockets ;)

i have considered a cheap runner, maybe a 306 turbo diesel or something, but that would mean leaving my LCR for the other half to use..... i dunno if i can trust her with it :cartman:

but having a cheap runner means twice the insurance, twice the maintenance etc etc etc...... just need to see how everything pans out

you golf won't be bad, i loved my mk4 golf, i would have it back in a second if i could lol

my brother is waiting til monday to decide what he wants to do, hes talking about doing a trial swap for a few months til his current policy runs out in october, i know for a fact if i get his fabia i will get jabbasport stage 1 straight away tho, he might end up with a free remap out of it lol, thats if after the trial he wants his fabia back. another thing that he is put off by is that my LCR has 90k on it and its an 03plate vs his fabia having 57k on the clocks and its an 06 plate. in terms of value tho they are probably worth around the same, but in terms of what i have spent on mine vs what he has spent on his, he will do well out the deal.

i've also been looking at fabia vrs for sale, you can pick an early one up with good mileage for much cheapness these days due to the new vrs model being out now, spotted an 04plate with 75k on the clock, totally standard for 4k. might be another option if he opts not to swap cars. i wouldn't mind a fabia with nearer 100k on the clocks if it was reflected in the price because i know the engines are bulletproof.

my brother is no longer taking the LCR....... the insurance company are wanting crazy money to transfer his policy over for the remaining 4 months.... he was looking forward to the swap aswell.
so the car is now officially up for sale.

yesterday i fitted the correct n75 valve after dave @ sere motors sent the correct one out this time lol, car is running a million times better now :) also removed the pumped rear weitec shocks and fitted the stock ones back in temporarily til replacement weitecs are sent back out :)

also stripped the passenger side rear door down, turns out there was a loose connection onto the pcb for the central locking unit, all is now functioning again and i now have 4 fully operational doors again :D only after months and months of only having 3 :lmao:

the car would now be sitting ready to go now...... but when i was having a nosey at the front pads to check the wear i noticed the inner CV boot on the nearside was split :( so i went round to check the offside one and it was badly worn too :( so will price up a couple of CV boots and will get them fired on at the 1st oppourtunity, then i'll be ready to rock and roll with finding the LCR a new home
