The overall aim of these is to deal with spikes which we have seen on many mapped LCR's. I have also seen that all who have installed a boost controller have noticed their cars hold boost for longer through the rev range. Those are the two positives which is why I always wanted one on the car.
You can install the controller to work alone or with the N75 valve. By running the controller with the N75 valve means you are still allowing the N75 to deal with part throttle, and then relying on the MBC to deal with the quick spikes and bleeding pressure.
