The overall aim of these is to deal with spikes which we have seen on many mapped LCR's. I have also seen that all who have installed a boost controller have noticed their cars hold boost for longer through the rev range. Those are the two positives which is why I always wanted one on the car.

You can install the controller to work alone or with the N75 valve. By running the controller with the N75 valve means you are still allowing the N75 to deal with part throttle, and then relying on the MBC to deal with the quick spikes and bleeding pressure.

Installation on how I have this plumbed in:

Hi mate, Do you happen to have any installation pictures of the MBC in your engine bay at all as I'm interested to see where it sits and I need one to cap a spike that I am now having.

My max boost currently is 2540mb (22.5psi) which is the max the ECU can read so is likely a bit higher but the spike is causing surging and the turbo is sucking in more air than the ECU is requesting so something is up, mapping issue I think or just a characteristically spikey K04.

You've said that the car performs better with an MBC installed, is this true for you? I take that the MBC comes with instructions telling you how to set it to the correct PSI?

Thanks :)

Hi mate, only just seen this post. Haven't taken any pics yet but will get some for you. I basically followed the guide Harty did when he installed. Have a look here: http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=218742&page=14

There are several logs which have been posted around where people are seeing boost pressure being held much better throughout the rev range. I currently don't have mine set up properly as the car is still running the OEM map. It will really come into place once I get the exhaust and map done. However saying this since installing I have noticed that now it hits 0.8 bar boost and holds there throughout.

The MBC itself comes with nothing to be honest, it's a generic boost controller for all cars as opposed to just the Leon.

No problem, thanks for getting back to me and pointing me to that guide :). I'm going to order a FMIC and then take it to Stage 2, if I'm still getting the spikes then I will be able to cap them with the MBC to 20psi/1.3bar or 21psi/1.4bar.

Which size silicone hose did you use by the way?

MOT Passed, Brake Wear Sensor VAGCOM'd, Coilovers Ordered!

Thought I'd do a bit of an undate on the thread seen as I have gone quiet lately.

Few bits and pieces which needed doing, generally to keep the car healthy and happy. Passed MOT for another year with no problems..............maybe I am slighly anal when it comes to taking care of this car ;)

My brake pad warning sensor light kept coming on recently which was seriously doing my head in. Especially early mornings after a crazy night out. A couple of years back when I changed to some decent set of race pads D.K did a little cheeky mod to trick the sensor which you can see here

This worked perfectly fine and was going to do the same this time round but thought I'd go for the VAGCOM option seen as I have it. Very easy to do. Here is how:

[Select]
[17 - Instruments]
[Recode - 07]

Write down the existing coding for future reference. It is shown in the top half of the main screen and will read something like "23412". The first two digits will need to be adjusted to disable the brake pad warning light.

Change the code by subtracting 01 from the first two digits. In this example, 23412 would become 22412

[Do It!]

The brake pad indicator should now be disabled.

Next up is a better update................I have now on order a set of Weitec Hicon GT Coilovers. Got some plans for the car so coilovers are definitely needed. Can't wait to get them on, going to look absolutely sweet on the car. Few others bits and pieces going on as well but I will wait until they are all done before I share [B)]

Yeah I can't wait. Finally will be able to get the stance it deserves. Handles great at the moment but I know it will feel even better afterwards. It's a no brainer really, loads of flexibility with coilovers with adjusting the height so on the floor for the shows and then high up like a 4x4 for the winter ;)

Comments about my Weitecs are often, "your car holds the road like sh!t to a stick" :D. You'll love them, if you need any info on fitting then I wrote a guide in my build thread :)

Just what I am after, grip that bend bad boy!!! Although I do need to start thinking about upping the power now that the handling will be pretty much complete. Only other thing I can think of is changing the bushes which I might stretch to sometime soon.

Yeah I saw that write up mate, nice one on putting that up. Getting robbed indeed :D

Yeah it should be ok, as it's firmer up front. The OEM set up loves to dive hence why we tend to hit the front so much. Mate you know me, I never say no to a ride in a fast car

Hey Erdal, thanks for the email. Car is looking good as always. :)

Looking forward to the updates.

Hey mate, thanks for that. I have to admit I did kind of go off the car for a bit, mainly due to my bike.............(push bike yeah) ha!! Getting back into the vibe and got some ideas which I'm hoping will set the car apart!
