That's cool
Does the vinyl stuff look as good as the real thing ???

Nope, it's completly different,
With the real carbon you get a much deeper glossier finish, the vinyl is basically just textured sticky back plastic with no shine to it.

Other than the pattern there is no comparison between the two

I decided to refurb my Brembo's today.
I had tried to get away with just a light rub down and a re-lacquire last weekend but I was'nt happy with the result so after reading Jamjays build thread I striped them right down and sprayed them with smooth red Hammerite.
As they were

Thay were leaned with brake cleaner, which helped to remove a lot of the old lacquire, then rubed down with 400 Grit W&D, jetwashed off and dried

Now I dont have much patiance when it comes to spraying thing I as always I did'nt leave enough time between coats so I've ended up with a couple of runs

The runs will rub out pretty easily, but I'll leave them a few days to harden of before I do that, I'v also got some new Brembo stickers on order which will get fitted when I smooth out the runs.

They've come out really bright but I quite like it :D

I also bought some Megs Endurance tyre shine which is really good.

Good job Darren :). The colour will tone down a little once it's completely hardened and don't worry about the runs, they come out easy too. Brembo's just look odd without the logo don't they but if you ordered the same decals as me, he sends them out pretty quickly.

Another brembo refurb!!!! I'm getting impatient waiting for spare time.... Looks great.

Would be good with the carbon vinyl but agree with the weave then being pointless.

Nice tyre shine, I think a good dressing finishes a car nicely

Any news on the coolant/washer cover mate?

I think if you've got Brembo's they need to stand out which the bright red paint and white lettering does perfectly :D

I'v now got the cover to fit along the the front where the gap was and it now needs wraping with "cheap" carbon to build up the strenth, smooth over the washer hole and get the final shape right, Once I'm happy with the shape it'll be wraped in good Carbon :D
I was hoping to have it done for BHP performance show on bank holiday Monday but I'm running out of time :(

They look great Darren. The colour looks perfect IMO [B)]

The colour is perfect, it's toned down a little bit today but it's nice and bright and they really stand out against the wheels :D

Good work then matey, sounds great and I'm sure it's going to be a labour of love.

I'm thinking of using the D&T department in work to make my own version but need to be bothered first.

Just been out and put base layer on Carbon on, this will help to make the bit's I'v extended stronger and cover up the hole for the washer bottle.

Next stage will be to smooth it all down and fill with P38 filler if needed then wrap it :D

Good luck with the coilovers tomorrow! Should transform the handling. One thing i always regret never doing is putting coilovers on my LCR :(
