1.key in
2.turn to the ignition lights
3.take out straight away
4.hold down one button and press the other 3 times with a pause between each press
5.then the key flashes 5 times

but still doesnt wanna lock or unlock the doors from the fob :( :(

really getting annoyed now lol...

sounds like the same situation i'm in

had the car just over a month and after a couple of days of disconnect & reconnect , ignition on, ignition off, buttons pushed, LED's flashed, and on about the 50th attempt finally getting the 5 flashes but no response from anything else.

I have just found that my key only has a single battery in it but given i've had the 5 flashes I can but assume dead transponder or receiver.

Opening the car with the key isn't exactly the worst inconvenience in the world but is changing the transpoder (in the key I assume) or the receiver (in the headlining/interior light?) easy?

ah ok so the 5 flash just means its trying to transmit but if it doesn't have the power it can't send anything so isn't likely to stir a response out of the central locking.

I shall pick up a couple of new batteries ASAP (and probably be back when it still doesn't work :D)

Ads from the info posted here and in the FAQ thread if you still aren't getting a reponse you either have a knackered transmitter in your key or a knackered receiver in your car

There details of swapping key innards in the FAQ thread if you have a willing friend with a suitable key to test the transmitter.

I can confirm that i too am exactly the same boat.
New batteries + five flashes = nothing

I know the inlaws Caddy has the same kind of key so may try an innards swap and recode to see if it is my key that's duff or the receiver

Ah well nothing lost (except £4 :))
