I'm so pissed off with this car, how stupid is the way this car's engine works, why can't it be as straight forward as Jap turbo's, or french turbo's, this is the most silly boosting system I've ever come across on any car, turbo right at the back to access it you have to cut your arms off, 2032 boost pipes which all they do is crack break, today on a gorgeous day, I'm having to stick my fingers in this car again, I ripped open the pipes under the inlet manifold, changed everything that could remotely have a bloody boost leak to uprated silicon:

Cleared the bloody ECU again for the 600th time and still 0.4bar of boost! :(

I ran some logs but they didn't come out right, its hard finding a queit road in Birmingham, i'm going to re-do the logs asap.

UPDATE:


I've reversed EVERYTHING I done before the n249 bypass:

Re-connected the n249 chamber
Re-connected the n249 Electrics
Put brand new silicon hoses for both these
Brand new silcion hoses for under the inlet manifold
Sorted ALL boost leaks under the inlet manifold
Tightened ALL the FMIC boost pipes
Used T BOLT clamps for leaky area's
Cleared the fault codes from VAG COM
Removed the MAF connection / replaced the MAF connection
Removed the new n75 replaced with old n75

and .............................................................

.............................................................
..........................................................................................................................
..........................................................................................................................
.......................................................................................................................................................................................

STILL THE SAME!, STILL 0.4 BAR OF MAX BOOOOOOOOOST.

Brand new silicon for the n249 chamber, brand new silicon to go to top of DV:

Took everything connecting to turbo apart, used new silicon, high grade oil hoses for double measure behind the turbo:

Bran new n75 and hoses, if you guy's want to confirm that it's fitted correctly:

Tightened all hidden FMIC silicon joints, already using high grade t-bolts:

MAP Sensor tightened, connected, no damage to wire, a little rubbing on the under side of the lamp:

I'm confident that I don't have any boost leaks, well no MAJOR ones that will prevent the turbo from not boosting over 0.4 BAR


Reset the ECU, still get: 17705

This is how my setup is now, back to standard routing with the exception of the boost gauge, smaller red lines are some of the pipes I've changed to either uprated silicon or high grade fuel line quality pipes:

So basically i've gone back to the beginning to un-do anything I've done prior to the loss of boost

i empathise with you mate!!!
all i can offer you are stabs in the dark.

have you tested the n75 and connection?
have you tested the connection to the maf?
when fitting the tip/fmic did anything drop down to stop the turbo spinning?
also i noticed on your map sensor does it have a gasket between it and the metal pipe? cause i cant see plastic and metal making a good seal.

all i can think of at the minuet.

Does the cooler its self have a leak? Pressure test the intercooler.

Car's been booked in to Stealth Racing in Coventry, they have smoke boost leak test machine

How shocking is this, Birmingham, 2nd biggest city, even in grubby council estate ends you have lads driving evo's, subaru's, skylines, GT-R's, porche's, some really sexual performance cars and there isn't a SINGLE place in Birmingham that's tuning specialist that has a £3000 SMOKE boost test machine or ROLLING RAOD!!! It's shocking to me.......



Also have you checked the hose from the n75 to actuator.

I've replace that mate, well half of it, the bit after the plastic connected, after the hose that's covered with heat sink, look at this picture:

It's behind the charge pipe, that's the bit I've replaced, not all of it going to the actuator

Is there ever a point on these cars where you have to consider the ECU itself is at fault?
Just thinking out loud.

very unlikely its possible but never heard of these ecu's failing in my experience on the 110 tdi yeah but not 1.8t, defo don't think its boost leak that causing your constant limp mode, i would say 4 area's to look out actuator , n75 and n249 , and dv defo think its to do with either one of them

I mainly asked because it would appear that Mo has changed everything you mention, plus most people who have issues with any of those components rarely get constant limp mode 100% of the time.
