hehe...

Not sure on the rpm range as i dont know how unitronic will tune the map.

You see you can always have some high advance in low revs to help built up some boost faster.

So i will let you know on that after the first break in and after fine tuning.

power wise well i can only imagine arround the same range as other GT28RS ibizas unitronic has built.

For example this beeza has stock pistons and IE 19mm pin rods.

GT28RS T25 and produced the following power that you can see in the dyno video.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l5DZeQ57mFA

i have another mate with RS and produced 393Hp however the turbo was running out of its map i think. Not 100% sure.

I am upgrading my pistons too. My turbocharger will have a garret turbine housing T3 .63ar and my manifold will also be T3 pag parts.

So i believe most probably it will produce more power on high revs.

I didnt go with a GT2871 as the RS is supposed to be the best daily driver turbo.I aint a drag racer type of guy, but i love twisty country roads and track days :p. So the RS should be a better match for my needs.

Monday i am starting with the built...already booked the car with my engineer.

A friend of mine has an ep3 civic type r with a custom turbo build with the gt2871r and it comes in very early and then gets vtec higher up the rev range:lol: and that's 308hp at only 5 psi

I'm interested because I've had blue smoke the last couple of start ups on my car so was thinking of going hybrid turbo or big turbo if it dies :(

385bhp from 28Rs - really?

i guess it depends on the Dyno Bill...:p

Got another one @ 393 however it was runnig v high boost if i am not mistaken (cant remember)

Its all numbers to me buddy.

Fingers crossed next friday i will start with the engine break in.

Few thousand kilometers later + an uprated clutch-flywheel and remap fine tuning ill take mine to a dyno too so well know all the power figures from my specific setup

:)

Bill can you provide the vibra techniques engine mount? I e mailed them but got no reply.

i already have the dog bone from vibra so i am looking at the passenger side engine mount (for a european car ) and not the gearbox side one.

The car is finally out on the streets after 5 days of upgrades.

The engine internals have been upgraded in 2 days, new exhaust has been built all 76mm, a new exhaust for the external wastegate, new TIP etc etc.
An AEM wideband lamda gauge and the Greddy profec B boost controller have also been installed.

The Ecu has bee flashed with Unitronic stage 3 map, a Mafless file so i will also have to sell my forge relocation kit and 006 bov , and buy a Tial Q bov instead.

I did a first oil change after the first half an hour of operation and filled it up with Torco break in oil 30sae. Got another oil change in 500kms with the same oil. Will perform a break in till the first 2000kms and after the remaining upgrades and map fine tuning, hopefully ill taste some ext wastegate madness lol...

A few videos from various stages of the upgrade...

500kms later i had my third oil change.

I used again the Torco TBO Break in oil sae 30 so that i can finally get rid of them at 1000kms during break in.

I will go back to my Mobil 1 esp formula 5W-30 right after which i will be changing after the first 2000kms.

Then use the same Mobil 1s or some Red lines for proper oil change intervals.

Ordered the Tial Q blow off valve so that i can get rid of my forge 006 which is not working correct with my remap.(no proper throttle response-idle)

Ordered the Clutch Masters FX300 CLutch too along with a G60 Flywheel so hopefully by the end of next week i will have all of them installed along with some uprated gearbox valvoline.

So fingers crossed everything will be OK and we can start fine tuning the map :).

Ok 850kms completed during breaking in.

will have to switch to fully synthetic oil soon for some higher revving and boost.

Today i received my Tial Q blow off valve so its gonna be a fresh start on turbocharged cars (lol...always hated my car for its recirculating valve :p) as i am running a unitronic mafless file :)

Also received my clutch kit from Clutch Masters, segmented kevlar FX300 and i only need to get a new G60 flywheel now :)

Looking good

heres a little vid of the tial MVS sound in low boost (o.8bar) and low revs due to engine breaking in.

Took some time last night modding my 034 coil cover.

I bought a Dremel 8200 for some detailed modding :p

Instead of cutting the engine cylinder head cover i decided to cut off the coil cover itself.

Also installed the Audi S3 coil pack heatshiled after some very easy modding so i only need to install some blavk alen bolts instead of the silver supplied for a better match with the black cover.

Would love to have my cylinder head cover powdercoated black along with my intake manifold but its too late now lol...

So the engine bay would need to be cleaned, the Tial Q bov valve along with the inltake mani piping and i am done with the engine bay...

Bit more work done the last few days with the engine-engine bay.

Ordered an autobahn engine torque damper since even with 0.8 boost during break in i feel a lot of engine movement. The vibratechniques dog bone seems to be stressed a bit allowing too much engine travel. So hopefully with some DIY i will fit the torque damper and improve the whole situation.

Waiting for some SS high grip clamps from the UK too along with some Tee connections.

Had the Tial Q blow off valve installed too along with a custom built throttle body pipe with V band connection.

So getting there.

Tomorrow morning ill have to drive to Athens once again in order to install my G60 flywheel + Clutch Masters clutch kit and upgrade my gearbox valvoline with the Red line MT90.

Am also building a custom aluminum oil catch tank which will be installed near the downpipe under the car so that all of the oil fumes drain there.

Bit more patience and in a few weeks well have to fine tune the engine and take the car to a dyno :)

been ages since i updated this thread lol.

Well the car is running great. i didnt proceed in fine tuning the ecu software as i wanted to do that after summer and indeed the seat cupra intercooler couldnt keep up over 1.6 bar of boost.

sto at 1.7 the iat temps reached high levels.

So i ordered a new intercooler and will be installing it in the end of the month.

Other than that i am running 1.3 bar boost for every day and 1.6bar rarely.

Its too much power even at 1.3 bar and you need a road in good condition to be able to some drag runs etc lol.

Very happy with it so far.

heres a quick vid. Moving through the gears very slowly (keeping the max rpm low too (7500rpm limiter))as i need to install my engine torque damper too.

Also had my kw v3 adjusted a bit + rear arb(maxxed)+ had the car corner balanced.

So the weights in the front axle and the rear axle is 50 - 50 %

So drives even better arround the corners :)

So in my to do list

install the new intercooler.

intall my engine torque damper (need to cnc cut some supports for it specifically for my beeza)

install my custom aluminum oil catch can

finally do some car detailing on my car :p

fine tune the engine + dyno

heeh..Thank you

Thats just 1.3 bar. Software is not finished and i aint pushing it 100% there.

THat thingy is the greddy profec b wireless bluetooth remote.

You can switch between low and high boost from that push button.

Well thats really for drag racing with friends or not :p

It aint for me really as i aint a boy racer kind of guy lol, but i bought one just in case a challenge comes up lol

Got some new parts today.

New ferodo brake pads from the UK for my 6 pot 330x32 brakes. Hopefully they will be transformed compared to the stock 'el cheapo' brake pads.

Stock pads were not worn...i just hate them...lol

Quite expensive too...about 3 times the price of the normal DS2500 for the stock Cupra AP Calipers.

ALso got my intercooler by CX Racing.

Hopefully early next week , ill have it installed :)
