Thanks mate. lol. Just wondering how much longer the engine will last.

Ive done 55k in my car myself. And I done 10k of that in 6 months .

Im not going to use washers now Mike. Had a look at a frame and runner last night and built it up how it will be in the car and I can get away with fitting them the same way as you have yours. And Im going to keep it looking OEM by putting the handle for adjusting the seat the same way as the handle on the standard seats.

Should be fitted in a few weeks once I get 2 brackets made up that I need. :D.

lol 10k 6monthsd thats not enough i did like 20 k in a year lol and i didnt go asnywhere haha just cruising miles haha

and ye i was going to do it like that but my seats dip down in the middle and fowled it :(

Well at one point yesterday the inside of my car looked like this.

Lockingkitfitting.jpg

That was during the fitting of my remote locking kit and I now have remote locking.

And as you can see the box is hidden away and the rest of the car back together.

More updates soon!! :D!

Remote locking, fancy [B)]

Very fancy :)

Yep I know :). As you can see in the last pic it has an led that flashes when the car is locked. Although it doesnt stop flashing when you open it using the lock. The kit also comes with a 'Car Finder' function. I also have some options for upgrading the system, a window closure system add-on and boot solenoid/popper add-on. :D.

Would just like to say a huge thanks to MikeH, Ibiza_95 and Flapper for their assistance with the wiring side of it and how to wire it up.

Im thinking of getting the solenoid kit that is listed for it and adding it on and getting rid of the bootlock

Only update is that Im waiting to get a set of brackets for the Sparco frames made up at work, the bonus of working in an engineering place/ Waiting for a mate at work to return to knock them up for me, he has been away in Germany for the last 2 weeks getting training for some new plant machinery that is being installed. It will be all systems go once I get them. Will only be a case of drilling a couple of new holes in the frames.

2011 Plan Hic-up!

Time for an update, but not much of an update really.

Ibiza is getting its service on Thursday.

Then I had abit of an issue at the weekend regarding my new seats. :(.

I did a build up of one of the seats at the weekend to make sure all the mounting points etc were the same. After research and contacting a company about them, I was told that both the Fk seats and Sparco seats have the same mounting sizes regarding the holes on the seats. I took my Sparco frame at the weekend and went to mount it and.........

Its too narrow, the mounting holes on the seat are just too wide, like 1mm or so wider than the overall width of the frame. So I have a length of box section on the way to get around that problem.

Pictures will be provided during the building of the seats.

Bad times, where did you buy them frames and seats from?

Got the seats direct from Fk in Germany as I got both the seats for £114 including delivery.

Got the frames from Sportseats4u.com. Before I bought them I asked about the sizes etc and they just started selling the Fk seats and had the ones that I have (and at £100 more for just the seats) and from the sizes they had on file they matched both Sparco and Recaro subframes.

But it isnt a big job to solve the problem. And my box section has been posted. :funk:.

Im planning on doing alot more work on the Ibiza myself this year. It is the perfect car IMO to learn to do basic maintenance etc on.

Ive bought the gloves because it doesnt matter what Im doing on the Ibiza I end up bruising knuckles and cutting fingers/hands.

I just get cuts, bruises, blood etc on my hands
I hate gloves, but I have worked with bare hands on cars since I was around 11, so not used to gloves, but a mate has them, and says they are the part :)

Well thats what I used to do before, just work without gloves when I worked on the factory floor, but I got a promotion from the factory floor to staff/office worker at the same company, pricing and bringing work in. Now I have to deal/meet customers etc so appearance is a key thing now. Shirt, tie etc etc.

Not bad to have only been out my apprenticeship a year.

I bet you like to moisturise your hands aswell to keep them soft, eh Craig ;)

I dont go as far as that, well not yet anyway .
