haha thanks guys :D

well i had a go at polishing the manifold today. i must say it was a doddle to do with my sanding kit.
after 1 hour it looked like this

then added some polish

all i have to do now is spray the rest matt black with high temp engine paint. add a new vacuum tap to run a boost gauge and fit the manifold. im also looking into these special gaskets that keep the manifold cool, i dont know anything about them so any info on what i need will be great.

all in all im very pleased with how it went. :D

Hey Sam,

The mani looks really good. I've used a NewSouth Power gasket for a while; I bought it from Awesome GTI. I believe it's 10mm in thickness and it's supposed to reduce intake temps by roughly 10 degrees, but I would imagine others might be able to give more guidance who know more about this. For reference, I think its fitment is for a largeport rather than I shortport.

I've not personally removed the manifold before; will you be replacing it with the un-polished one yourself? Would be good to hear how you get on with it.

The de-badging looks really good and those wheels suit the colour/shape of the LCR down to a tee. White for the engine bay would look great IMO.

James.

Inlet manifold looks really good Sam. Maybe you'll want to have a go at doing another one soon ;). If you need any help fitting it give me shout and I can always pop over.
Also I got to say I was really impressed with the car the other night when you came over.

You can get the gasket from Bill, ive put some pics in his thread so you can see what it looks like:

(look for my post in there near the end)

Well worth it in my opinion. You get the new standard gasket your going to need anyway and for the bit of extra money can reduce your inlet temps too. Even after a very hard run I open the bonnet and the mani is very cool to touch. Incredible really as the head is so hot you cant touch it!!
