So.....this weekend i will be pickinh up my new car......an Evo 8 MR FQ320!!!

Found her on the MLR Forum (great forum).

A few specs: Currently running 398bhp!

Full service history and oil changes every 2k in between services.
Receipts and paperwork from original purchase invoice from xtreme
13 stamps in the book from xtereme and mitsi and last serviced by A1 autocare for oil and filter
2005 05 Plate FQ320 MR
Apexi AVCR, 1.6 bar
Forge Dual port dump valve
HKS induction
Uprated fuel pump
New clutch fitted around 50k
New belt and tensioners at same time
Taxed until April
MOT until June
ECUTEK remap and tweaked again by starkers :)
Full decat (cat included in sale for mot)
Full 3"HKS exhaust
New discs and pads all round 600 miles ago.
Usual MR bits and bobs.
Folding Mirrors and electric adjustment
Climate control
59K genuine miles (now 62k as its still being used)
Cam belt changed at 50k
Sat Nav, DVD video, ipod dock
No HP or finance outstanding
No crash damage.
2 sets of keys and fobs
Spoiler and Calipers refurbished
Tracker fitted

Its an absolute MINTER! Took my Jap Expert "Blitz Boy" who runs and owns a 600bhp fully pret Drag RX7 (competes in the UK Jap Drag Championshps) and he gave the car a good going over with a fine tooth comb. He was looking for an 8 two years ago for a frined and he said this was by far the cleanest example he had come across.

The test drive was insane! So much power, and the best thing was it could actually put it down! The cornering speeds achievable is mind blowing!

Picking her up on saturday and cant wait for the drive home. Here are a few pics from the ad. Private plate is coming off!

really need bigger rimes and lowering:D Looks very good mate:)

Cheers Tarzan! Its running on the standard 18's BBS alloys. Cout do with a drop i guess, on stanard Bilstein coilovers.

Going to be a hoot to drive, was popping and sputting flames on the over run![:@]

very nice mate, those wheels are 17's team dynamics, my dad 'bete noir' has still got a few parts lying around from his evo, give him a pm. For lowering i suggest eibach progressive springs coupled with cusco anti roll bars. This way, you get a little bit of ride comfort but track days are done with ease! this is the set up that a couple of demo evo's ran like simon norris's evo 7. This is what my dad had, couldn't fault it, was beating everything on handling courses. Just my 2 pence worth! Better start making friends with your local Shell garage! Enjoy mate, lovely car!:)

If you want to completely ruin the handling, these are really good suggestions .

My advice would be to spend some time on the MLR and do some research before you part with any money. There are plenty of people on there who act like they know it all (youngsyr is one of the worst offenders, but there are loads of them), but there are not that many who are really knowledgeable.

Enjoy! I loved my Evo, although I don't miss the bills :)

If you want to continue this discussion, I suggest we do it elsewhere, rather than clogging-up Cupramillo's thread.

However, you have illustrated my point above very nicely. When you own an Evo, you will get two types of people offering advice: One will be the sort who may have typed 'Evo' into Youtube a few times, and probably has a mate (or more likely father or uncle) who owns a Jap car; the other will be people who have spent a few years around the Evo scene, and who have owned, modified and tracked Evos in that time. Given how expensive it is to do anything on an Evo, I know whose advice I would be listening to.

Cupramillo can make up his own mind, but the MLR is very useful for helping to make an informed decision. And if you search for instances of folks fitting 19s onto Evo VIIIs, you will find they mostly took them off again very quickly.

Thanks for all the advice and comments :D

So she is now sat on the drive way! Was a great drive home. The performanbce is nothing short of amazing. 6th gear and still pulling from low down. The road hold is out of this world, have not stop driving it at all today.

Best choice i have made in a while!

Will get some of my own pics up when weather permits!

My bro used to have one mate. Absolute beast you have, and when you throw them into a bend at high speeds they just feel so safe, love them :)
Shame you live too far,to be "cheeky" and ask for a pass ride :p

Hope you have deep pockets tho...Enjoy..and loads power to be had from them..

I LOVE Evo's - my mate just sold up on his due to the cost of running.

I admit i cannot afford one - but this is an EXACT example of one i would want.

Still waiting for those lotto numbers to come up :-D
