Minor update. What with working so much and shelving plans for the KO3 Hybrid (had everything ready to bolt on, slightly regretting not doing it now), i thought id decide to treat the old girl to a full service.

Many thanks to the lads at AMD Essex for the oil service and diagnostics they carried out, top work as usual. Also had my Forge coolant hose kit fitted so there is now abit more red in the engine bay :) Also changed the spark plugs, cleaned the Jetex and gave her a good wash!

Had the last two weeks off so ive been driving her everywhere! Its a nice step up in power from my Mini One company car, though the steering is soooo heavy in the ibiza, and the Mini easily out handles the ibiza, but there's no substitute for 225bhp on tap!

I have fallen back in love with her, just not sure what to do to her next?! Thinking of trying to sort the handling, only have 20mm rear spacers and AP coilovers on at the mo, so some front and rear ARB's would work wonders me thinks. Also some engine mounts and new bushes as she does feel abit skitish at high speeds

Thanks for reading and comments welcome!

Hey long time no see, hope your well bud? I can recommend replacing all the bushes as I have with Powerflex items, the car feels so more taught and tight if that makes sense and far less skittish under braking like you mentioned. Get some BFI uprated engine mounts on her too, they will make a nice differance too. :)

I want to do ARBs too at some point to eliminate the excessive body roll, got to get my brakes and the car serviced and new clutch and flywheel done before hand though.

Mini update. Been deciding for ages which oil to go for, finally decided to stump up and give her the best (in my opinion of course). Went on EGAY and ordered 2x5litre Silkolene Pro-S 5W40 Fully Synthetic Motorsport oil. She will be treated to her new oil when i get her serviced at AMD in a week or two (80k service :( )

I have heard very good things about this oil, so cant wait to get it in her and see how it performs!

Havent posted any updates for a while now so i thought id share a few that have come about of late.

FINALLY got my new front bumper resprayed. Got a very good quote from Seat funnily enough in Kingston to respray for a bloody good price so got them to do that and they have done an excellent job. Also managed to crack my passanger side side skirt whilsyt jacking the car up, so got a new one resprayed at the same time and fitted everything.

The old girl is now back up to scratch and look mint again. What with the company car i dont get the chance to drive her much, so its strictly weekend driving just to keep her in good health.

Not sure what to do to her next. Its still a rapid little car but i dont want to spend loads doing anymore power mods so i think some BFI engine mounts and some front and rear ARB's and that should be about it.

Have been getting an itch for either a LCR or a S3 but we'll have to wait and see.

Will post pics up up when the digicam decides to start working.

Thanks for looking

Hey bud, i knw it will be a shame to see her go, have done so much to hear and she has coem so far. Kind of regret not taking her to hybrid level.

Ahh well, on to bigger and faster things. Hot my heart set on a Evo 8 FQ300 or 340

Going to be a big step up in power, just craving some 4WD action and more power of course!

Hmmmm an mr FQ 340 would be lovely, FQ 300's have rubbish interiors. My dad 'Bete noir' on here had an evo 8 FQ 330 before all the mr's came out. Drop him a pm if you've got any queries, or get yourself on lancer register and just try to ignore all the jumped up mid life crisis lot.:)

Im sure I will be the same, nice choice of new car the 340 sounds more appealing though lol. Had much interest in your car at all? Bet you will sell up quite quickly as most mods are done for the hybrid. All the best with the sale and do pop back to show your new Jap exotica. :)

Thats it.....my cupra ownership is over. She was sold this afternoon to a nice young lad. I know it will be in good hands. Was sooooo sad to see her go. Was half tempted to keep it if truth be told when i saw her driving off. Looks so clean and MINT.

The new owner said he would stay on the forum and let me know how she gets along.

On to new pastures now....the hunt for a nice EVO8 will start in earnest. Got my eye on a couple already. The time was right to sell is im honest. Had her for almost 3years and did as much as i could to her.

Do slightly regret not carrying out the Hybrid treatment but saved money in the long run i guess....that and she was always quick enough for me.

Will stay on the forum for a while yet. Cant say how helpful and nice everyone is compared to some other forums!

Many thanks for all the comments over the years
