After reading lot's of positive reports about Badger Bill's 3" TIP I thought I'd give it a go and see what all the fuss is about.

I'v also gone for a Jetex cone filter, it's the bigger FR08001, I'v got a couple of idea's for the filter,

I'v never really liked the look of cone filter's so I want to try and hide it as much as possible,
This is what I'm going to do, I'll then be able to fit my Carbon Fibre S3 airbox cover

If my idea does'nt work then I'll make a Carbon Fibre version of the Jabba heat sheild.

The TIP and filter will be on for the Rolling Road Day AmD Essex this Sunday.

I'v also had another go at the S3 waher and header tank cover.
I'v now got a fitted the top bracket so I can now secure the cover where I want it, I did have to open up the locating holes a bit so it would sit closer to the wing as I think the S3 wings over hang a bit more than the Leon one's.

IF I continue with the cover the washer access hole will be smoothed over as I cant be bothered with trying to make the bigger washer bottle fit and then it will need extending to fill the gap's along the front and wraped in Carbon Fibre.

Hi D.K.

The car continues to look great. I hope the S3 cover works out; would be nice if the cover could meet the wing, as you plan. I'm sure it will be worth every bit of effort, if you do choose to perservere with it.

As you might recall, I disguised my Green Cotton filter with my old, extended, BMC outer casing. It has a direct twin air feed from the fogs and additional breather holes. It's performance is great, over the oem set up, imho. The Jetex seems to get great reviews on the LCR, amongst others. I hope you enjoy the new set up. I've read nothing but praise for Bill's TIP; very envious!

How is your exhaust bedding now, after a few months of motoring? Hope the RR goes well on Sunday!

James :)

The new exhaust is doing really well mate, it's got a lovely sound to it and there's no drone at motorway speeds :D

Glad the TIP and FR have turned up matey. You will instantly notice the difference with the TIP.. And of course that Jetex sucking away! I love this setup, hence why I have the same :)

Now, if you could just put your S3 project on hold for that mani.... ;)

Again welcome to the dark side ;) You know you love the sound of the open cone. Engine bay looks just as sweet. Actually I think better but then I am biased aren't I about open cones etc

Cracking work Daz,

Stop posting pics of the TIP, it's making me want to buy one, especially seeing one at Badger 5 last week! Let me know of the improvement it gives :D

Night and day between 'normal' silicone & 3", instant power difference. I've noticed a huge difference in torque at low revs and the turbo doesn't seem to run out of puff at all, full boost is, for lack of a better word, raw and rather out of control at times :).

I have a mixed opinion about this so far, I was expecting a bigger difference over the Forge TIP but to be fair to it I was'nt able to use the top end of the power band which where most other's are seeing the difference.

The other thing I should have maybe done was to fit the just new TIP with my airbox, this way it would have been easier to see what extra I was getting from just the TIP, I might refit the airbox after the rolling road day to see if I'm gaining much on the road between the cone and the airbox.

I'v got another pipe with a 45 degree bend in it wich will allow the cone to sit where I want it to allow the carbon cover to be fitted, hopefully I'll get this done tomorrow.
