doing this at the weekend, both my drivers side mats were soaked again this morning.

Same, i plan to try and sort it out this weekend as weather looks promising and i also have a pond in the back. Im thinking of getting a rain coat (car cover) for my car if i cant sort it out this weekend

Dito, snap and all that jazz! Think all 4 of my doors are leaking as after heavy rain all the plasitic sills are wet when you open the door - but just noticed my rear passenger floor is SOAKING! haha I knew it was seeping in as the other morning I needed windscreen wipers on the inside!!
Terry me old muka, also interested to see your pics as I really cant be arsed just yet to take every door panel off to reseal - summer job door at a time me thinks. Just a quick fix for winter will do me fine!
Unless Tez your in the Winchester area this wknd at all ;) hehe

Thanks for your time, both of you!

So if i just cut out 2 little triangles in the seal that should sort it? I take it you will still get your feet wet when opening the car door as the water buildup comes out but at least it will not flood into the car right?

Cheers:happy:

The text in the email was this

I hope you can get the en idea of what I have done here

The size of the red (where I cut) is not to scale!!!

The red is more or less where I have cut and the blue was ment to show where the water runs

My cut out are only about 1 to 1.5cm long at the bottom and join at the top like a triangle

You can also do this with a hole punch, looks neater normally but I didn’t have one so used some snips

Generally the water sits in-between the seal on the door and the door shut

The cuts lets the water run under and out of the seal on the door

Lol ok mate ill let ya off!!

Just in the top layer of the rubber yer? Can water not like build up in the middle and dribble in??

Plus am I right in thinkin that the water builds up - but seeps in through the holes, then drains when the doors opened? Or goes in the top and out the bottom?

ps - if I used a hole punch, same effect but hole in the top of the seal and then one on the bottom?

Lol - im feeling so dumb this morning!! :(

i cut all the wy through the rubber both top and bottome layers other wise it will just sit there and find its way back in to the car
when i get home i will try and get a propper pic of mine

i dont get wet feet when i open the door, the water doest sit in there any more

Its ok - im just being a mook! I looked at the original drawing and "presume" that the water sits on the top of the rubber but cant build up as itll just seep thru and inside the rubber itelf - then with driving the water trickles out the holes on the side at the bottom and out down the sill :) defo a easy solution and ive got my works hole punch primed and ready to take home this wknd ;)
