MOT booked for Saturday, I am slightly pooping it as I always do. ABS is randomly playing up again and I've found another hole My uncle will be round for the second time in 2 weeks, lucky for me he does the welding for a cup of coffee and a biscuit

Guess whats lights apeared today whilst doing my final pre MOT checks?

Up with the sun rise tomorrow to hopefully fix it, MOT's at 9am

Good luck mate, I know how you feel. I've had to plate and paint various parts of the mazda and i still missed a bit that the tester caught. Still £20 later its through.

Its the ABS thats causing me concern now, I think the wire has gone to the rear right sensor. Tested with a multimeter and the voltage through it is virtually nothing. If it is the wire thats buggered I can hopefully do a temp fix with what little time I have in the morning.

Ripping the ABS off the car an option for the future?

Even though my non abs model gets scary under hard braking in the wet i don't miss that bloody orange light flickering on and off

It seems to much work to remove it, new pipes, bias valve for the rear, pissing about with getting the bias right etc. etc.

I'd rather buy a Westfield

nope can't do that, MOT tester checks to see if illuminates on system check.

ABS pump is obvious too.

hmmmm poke MOT testers eye so he cant see pump? does it have any bearing noise? could be ABS ring. but not sure what type of ABS the beezas have.

Failed

ABS logged one single fault while it was in the garage, no problems there or back! I was up at 6am this morning to fix it, I think I can solve that now.

Emissions was the other one, idle was ok but failed fast idle. Got a week to try and sort it.
I'll start a thread for that as its something its always had a problem with come MOT time.

Everything else was fine and dandy, so im kinda happy about that.......just two silly things, and the one is fixed already!

Can't you just get it silly hot and then put it striaght in for the test? Usually works from experience.

Im going to stick a fuel treatment in when I go back and thrash it like a good'un.

Changed the oil and filter when I got back yesterday, its had a new fuel filter and other bits checked over. Plugs, leads etc look in good nick. Plugs do look a tad white though, suggesting its running lean?

My mk2 failed it's MOT in April and has been sitting around since then. This thread's just given me an my mate some inspiration to get it sorted for track use! Looking good mate. Any new pics to show at all or is it still in the same guise as before?

Cheers mate, its not changed much on the looks front so no pics. Once its running well (if ever) I'll start tarting it up a bit, still wouldn't mind some colour on the wheels......although the black and purple combo is growing on me.

Failed the retest

By magic, the ABS light came on when the tester pulled it into the bay. Then turned back off again as I got in the car to take it away.

Not much change on the emissions either.

Feeling as though I should call it a day
