Yeh he really does know his stuff, man is a genius with engines. Dunno if you saw the jag e-type through the back but thats pushing about 50hp more than some of the other competitors cars and they have spent about 80k on their engines, that one hasnt had a quarter of that spent on the engine lol

Yeh headwork usually see's good gains and might be worth doing it whilst it's in bits. Plus if you have the inlet and exhaust manifold laying around you could get them properly match up to the head ports as well. If you got the money i'd get it done then it gives you better scope in the future if you stick a monster of a turbo on haha

My car is still in warranty so engine is standard except the map and panel filter. Wont be touching it to be honest as my full time job is a 60 mile a day commute :( I fitted all the suspension and did the tracking at alistairs though, lets me use the ramps through the back and the tools etc

With my old car (corsa c 1.8 sri) i had a spare cylinder head and bought some lairy cams for it but never got round to building the engine up before i decided to sell it on and go back v.a.g. He did my mates cylinder head for the same car and thats rr'd better results than another lads itb'd one!

Yeah seen the jag up on ramp looks nice. I would need new reatainers in future if go big Turbo as they fail at high rpm I have been told. I would like to know gains before I put another 500 quid into engine as need to see I'd would be worth it, allister said can use the supertech valves If he does headwork for me. I just want a bulletproof engine, what ways best for running in engine? Allister said mineral oil I think,

Nice rebuild ;)
Keep us updated

cheers mate, got a load of bits to fit when come back to uk in oct, just hope there is a high flow manifold out by then to go with the k04 hybrid and water meth, also had head ported and polished so would be good to see what sort of gains can get there,

just hope the diff and the suspension setup i have gone with work well together, think ive maxed out as have all arbs and struts that are available :)

Yeah, keep that suspension in very good shape. Handling is a big issue in high HP.
I have a Civic Turbo, it has around 400hp. Grip is one of my biggest problems.
I'm not 100% sure how water methanol works. I just run on pump gas. Can you explain or give some link about that?
I was also wondering using water eter for cooling system. Did you used it before?

That civic must be an animal , water meth keeps the inlet temps down cooler temp = more power , and you can run more timing , as you no turbo cars lose power when hot , leons looking good mate diff looks sexual as do the pistons , but don't get 2 disappointed when you don't make 320bhp or any where near it , would like to be proven wrong tho my guess is 298bhp when's it getting mapped ? Two of my mates had hybrids both made the same as mine one had forged pistons etc best he got on a rr was 291 , the other one made 286bhp and both couldn't leave or pull on my car ,

hi dan im not sure where to get mapped yet, i seen bill mapped and s3 to 315 but power lost more runs done due to heat so hope my water meth stops this, the engine got a slight overbore and ported and polished head so hoping this helps, also waiting on the high flow mani, and ive still got the choice of going bt but nothing crazy as i use the car doing 350 miles a week on motorway and dont want silly mpg, also hoping the diff helps me put the power down,

Hi,

Which DO kit did you go for, i just installed mine but the controller is faulty so i was thinking of changing it for the stage 2 kit without the built in map sensor, only difference is that i need to tap into the map sensor wiring instead of running a boots tap off the mani.

Here is my install if you are looking for ideas

hi robbie what you mean what DO kit?? im confused, i have the same kit as you, thanks for ides will be fitting to the car when i come back home in oct, then will be getting car mapped with hynrid and water meth and hopefully high flow mani,
i spoke to bill about taking signal off the map sensor but this kits easier to install,
your cars looking awesome mate,
thanks for pics on installing it :D

DO = Devil's Own.

I am actually just about to call Devil's own again, they send me a faulty WMI controller and they won't have a new one in stock for a few weeks so i am gonna downgrade to the controller that takes the signal off the MAP sensor.

Let me know when you plan on installing as there were a few things i would do differently next time round.

Nice car BTW, i will be following the thread.:)

cheers mate, well currently out the country till oct so once refit engine will fit the water meth then get the car mapped and see how she pulls, 300 bhp and 300 torque and will be happy i think.
just hope hight flow mani comes out before october and will be happy,

are you going to get a new wmi controller once have them in stock or you going to keep the map sensor?

300/300, i would be thrilled with that mate. What high flow mani are you going for?

DO shipped me a new WMI controller, i got the 2.5bar controller this time round and i will just tap it into the MAP sensor on the car.I orginally got the WMI controller with the build in 3bar MAP sensor but it was faulty and they could not tell me when it would be back in stock, so this is why i decided to get the different controller.

well once a decent one comes out i will be putting name down for it and then fitting when get car back together, seen bill pulled nearly 320 on same hybrid ( without water meth and head work i have had done) so may get him to map it, or will see what this vvt software is all about, bill was saying better to have bhp as torque will lose traction in front wheel drive, 300 at 7000 rpm should be ok i think,
what you think of the water meth kit and how long take you to fit it?

Well i haven't got to run it yet cause of the faulty controller, from start to finish it took about 6hrs to install, thats from the bumper going off to the bumper going back on.At least 1hr was spent scratching my head trying to figure out where to mount the pump and another 1/2 hr drinking tea, swearing and looking for tools in my garage.

All in all it was moderately easy to do.The plumbing is easy and the electrics were easy to, just use the junction box under the dash(fuse these!)
