Re-map.....How good!

Well, after reading a lot of post on this forum i decided tot ake the plunge and get the Cupra re-mapped and its the best thing i have ever done, dont know why i ever put it off!

I got it done at a place called Vtune Leeds.

Not sure of power gians untill it goes on a rolling road but it should be a minimum of 280bhp and he told me that an S3 with the same engine got the same map and hit 310bhp on a rolling road with no other mods! It was a hell of a lot cheaper than other options like REVO etc. Defo recomend to anyone thinking about doing it!

Interesting, where abouts in Leeds is this ?

Would be keen to get a price as the dealers want 550 where mine's on order from.

I think its a mobile service but i just went to his house because it was close but he said some1 brought a car down from newcastle to get it done. If you go on vtuneleeds.com its got contact details. Its normally 300 quid but he's doing offers for seat owners because he wants to do more seat's.

Im on 2nd day with the remap and it cant keep my foot off the power! the car is alive!

Just an update for people! Milltek fully bedded in and no issues with the remap! The car sounds amazing and the power is still catching me out every now and then!

Just for info, the company I used (vtuneleeds) is not the same people/company as vtune. I know these guys have been mentioned on here in the past but I used vtuneleeds, different company! And very good service!

Can I ask which milltek system you got? Res or non res? Cat back or full lot? Iv just had mine Revo and I agree it's amazing with a remap!

I had a test drive in a Cupra, and to be honest wasn't impressed. But for a simple remap it's completely different.

Mines got a Miltek cat back, which is resonated, Might change to a non res as it's not beefy enough.

I got a non resi cat back, at first it was a bit quiet........but the sound proofing in a cupra is stupid! Fully bedded in now, when you come off throttle it makes a luvly deep popping/rumble. Full throttle in a tunnel sounds crazy. As my mate said to me who doesnt knwo much about cars.....'your exhaust doesnt sound chavy, it sounds sophisticated and the car sounds powerfull'. defo recomend if you dont want an exhaust that sounds like 1.2 corsa with a drain pipe on the back!

I also took the engine bay sound proofing off the underside of the bonnet so the induction kit can be heard and the turbo/blow off valve sound has increased naturally with the extra power and air flow.

Only problem with remap is now the car eats more rubber than before....but thats to be expected. Anyone know of other tires to the Pzero's????

Re the remap - the guy at vtuneleeds did the same map to the S3 (same engine) and it went on a rolling road with no mods and knocked out 300bhp. So the remap has put mine up somewhere in that region.

Took mine to santapod.....it did quarter mile in 13 seconds and crossed the line at 102mph.........so its not sluggish!

I know a lot of people on here have gone for alternatives but if you want the car to sound powerfull but not too loud and not like a raspy farty corsa sound then i'd say go with a milltek. they know what they are doing!

no no, comfortable 13 seconds....not flat by any means but still 13 seconds! out of 5 runs it got below 14 seconds twice and crossed the line over 100mph every time! Its all in the start and contolling ESP off! I wish it had 400bhp but me thinks stuff wud start to fall apart!

It was at the gti spring festival at santapod. pretty much the fastest thing goin down the strip out of the 'normal' cars.......i was never gonna beat a mk2 golf fitted with a role cage and wheelie bar!

But i was quite suprised how fast i was going down, crossing line in top end of 4th gear. Brothers 200bhp VR6 was only getting into 3rd gear!!ha!
