face UP actually... and Cluur... the bionic beast will return, collected a (hopeful) replacement hub yesterday, so friday will be spent as all days off should..getting oily.
seems i may have another log book in my mitts soon too as laddo's Olop has knacked its clutch today and hes seriously loosing faith in it, shame as hes spent a fair whack on it already so if he jacks it in, ive told him to give me first refusal.

#Update#

Not a great deal to report, first of formost its all alive & kicking again :) got it back week before last of being off road for such a duration, basically stated in earlier posts I took it down to the engine builders/mappers to have the map tweeked having fitted the new filter and the manifold - which didn't happen as the headgasket had gone between 3&4 cylinders.

Whipping the head off revealed that the engine was on the verge of suffering a catastrophic failure simular to the engine failure I had in 2007. So all in all the head gasket goosing itself was infact quite lucky.

Upon rebuild the head has gone under extensive work in the areas around the valve heads top of the combustion chambers, some more fettling to the inlet throats and all new valve guides

And here is the end result:
Dynoplot.jpg

The dashed lines is the previous dynoplot after it was mapped in 2008, no more peak power but significantly better in all other areas and most importantly drives alot better too which I'm pleased about.

Other changes includes a different wheel colour chich isnt to be taken seriously at all as is the the rear spoiler (well the spoiler is quite light and the blind spot through the back window is now non existant)

As for the car itself I'm pretty much done. I intend to see out the year with it, take it on a road trip do a couple of trackdays. it'll be a sad day when that comes but its time to move on to bigger and better things.

I am new here and I was looking for Cordoba Cupra's here.
You are the first I found here.
Nice Cordo you have!!

Buy a Cordo Cup 1.8 20VT as your next project!!

I did the same.
After a 2.0Gti 115hp(4doors),a 1.6 101hp SX (2doors) and a 2.0Gti 115hp SX (2doors) I bought a Cupra 1.8 20VT from 2002.
Easy too make faster and there is more too get for this type Cordoba.
