The front strut brace came from Weichers Sport, I got it many years ago. managed to get it re-fitted today as well:

Again all new stainless steel nuts and bolts used to refit. Ignore the other stuff going on, more stuff is getting repainted for this year! :D

Cheers mate. I like it, the way it is straight and then down at the ends is perfect. Only other strut brace I have seen similar to that is the OMP one! Either way both will be repainted for me also :D

Had a nice little tussle with a Subaru Impreza today! It was clearly modified, yellow with blue mudflaps, big exhaust, dump valve plus lots more by the look and sound of it, it was a JDM import version. I came up behind it quite fast, he moved over then nailed it and waived bye ... I had no idea what he was doing! It suddenly dawned on me he wanted to race!

So not letting him away with the bye wave, I kept up with him and he pulled over again and it was on, I was ready this time. I nailed it and so did he, I pulled about half to one car length on him and that's how it stayed, he pulled out behind me so I returned the 'bye' wave, he flashed his lights and gave me a thumbs up! There was almost nothing in it, very close really, but I did pull ahead!

That's two Impreza's I've tussled with, first was a blue UK STi and now this one, pulled ahead both times. :D Flying the flag for SEAT with pride. ;)

(Private road of course within the speed limits - I do not condone street racing)

With the boost set at 1.7 BAR (24psi) it has become apparent on long hard runs that my oil temps are getting a bit too high for comfort. The GT2X is oil-cooled only so I need to fit an air-to-oil cooler, the OE heat exchanger above the oil filter is no longer any use. So I have collected up the required parts to fit one.

Found a brand new 13-row Serck Speed oil cooler on Ebay for £25! Got a bag full of fittings and hoses too, the only thing I had to buy full price was the Mocal thermostatic sandwich plate. Will fit it very soon.

I also built my own oil separator/catch tank using a plain metal project box. I drilled and tapped it for 19mm fittings, level indicator, outlet and also an inlet for the hose that normally goes to the intake from the EVAP canister. I sprayed it silver, and yes it is baffled inside and has a long drain hose in the base which is very easy to empty.

The lid (front) is sealed with liquid gasket so won't leak. After seeing the gunk coming out of my old can which was recirculated, I am venting this one. Nothing goes to the intake now, just the DV. So far it works great with no issues at all, performance feels the same plus I know that no oil mist/vapours/gunk are entering the intake.

I received the part I was waiting on, so now I can get under the car and do the oil cooler and this Powerflex steering rack bush at the same time. I'll change the gearbox oil as well.

I only waited a couple of weeks for it, and I knew Powerflex had a fire so was happy to wait, but I got a bag of mini easter eggs in the jiffy bag!
