Topping up oil

Hi all

How often do you have to top up your oil in your lcr? Do these car's use much oil? never had a turboed car before. when i do check it most of the time i have had to top it up.

i have this problem i contacted seat about it they said they either drink a lot or none at all but i asked jabba motor sport wen i was up there they said if you over fill the oil it jus burns it ;)

intresting mate, im going to keep my eye on it cant see it being nothing to servere with 16500 miles on the clock but who knows! If it carrys on i will take it back down the garage.

Depends how you drive it really, i wouldnt be concerned about any engine using oil during service intervals as long as its not excessive and smoke is present.
I probably use about 1 lt of mobil 1 every 10k.

thats about how much im useing i think roughly. i'll stop worrying then. :)

my LCR used oil for a while, or so I thought. Turned out to be a tiny leak in the PCV system. New parts and now its not using any oil whatsoever. Mobile 1 0w-40

rsmith: ok cool wanting to do a 5k oil change just waitin on the wheather!!!! im useing quantum synta gold 5w-40 i take it this is ok?:)

I've had two 1.8T's and both have hardly used any oil at all, can maybe squeeze in 0.5 litre between oil changes.

Quantum Synta Gold is good - what I use on mine and Bill uses on his racecar.

-just dig your head down in the enginebay with a torch and look for wetspots of oil on the block or on hoses. Those rubberhoses in the PCV system are fairly weak. Mine is a BAM angine and I was told they fixed the hoses on the BAM engine but no dice. Was a rotten hose.
