Hi guys

I just wondering wheather anyone one else has had a simalar issue ?

I own a mk2 Leon tfsi fr and last year had the following mods,

ko4 turbo conversion
s3 intercooler
s3 injectors
full tbe
dogbone mount
forge bov spacer
eibach sportlines
kmd hpfp internals
front & rear r32 brake set up with goodridge braided hoses
revo stage 3 map to accompany the mods

The car was running great smooth and plenty of power, until this point I was still using a carbon speed cai with a pipercross filter. I then sourced a itg maxogen ko4 cai and this was fitted at my garage along with a new cam follower, and a set of NGk iridium spark plugs. There was no issues with previous cam follower, but thought after 24k it would be worth changing the cam follower & spark plugs.

After fitting I took out the car for a spin and when powering down, and hitting 4-5 k the car stalled, I stopped the car switched iginition Off and back on and the engine worked fine. I did this approximately 5 times with the same result. But on the last attempt the car refused to turn over. I had the car towed back to the garage and on checking vag com, it showed fault code low fuel pressure. The garage contacted revo who stated to check whether the hpfp, had seized, they dismantled the hpfp and it all appeared in good working order. The car was taken out for a spin again with the same results.

Prior to this the car had never stalled or had any issues

any ideas ?????

thanks dan for replying

I'll be able to post the codes later when I get back to garage, they contacted me earlier to state that on checking the fuel filter it was completly black. So they are replacing the filter and going to see whether this rectifies the issue. But I will update the codes when I get to the garage

Cheers. Reesy

thanks in advance

Update regarding questions

(I HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE EMAIL FROM THE GARAGE YET WITH THE FAULT CODES)

My car has only covered 24k miles to date

a few weeks prior to this incident i was able to push the car to it max, and on driving the car back home i noticed that the engine light was illuminated. I took the car to the garage and ran it through vag com, and the fault showed that the car was running lean. They cleared the fault codes and i drove the car away, my revo settings at this time set by the dealer was B9 T4 F9. I continued to drive the car for a few days and once again the engine light illumunated again, with the same fault. I spoke to REVO who stated that the settting should not bring up any fault code, but indicated that it could be the cam follower.

I then ordered a replacement cam follower and thought that whilst it was in the garage i would replace the spark plugs and have the intake fitted. In the intrim i altered the the revo settings to B8 T5 F7, and drove the car for 3 4 days awaiting for my work being carried out at the garage. During this period the engine light did not come again, but i was driving sensibly.

I booked my car into the garage and received a call mid afternoon to say that it was ready, on returning the car to me they had left the car with 10 miles petrol remaining in the tank. I drove the car to my local tescos which surpise surpise were out of super unleaded, so i had to travel to the nearest shell garage and on arriving there the tank was reading 0 miles remaining. I filled up with V MAX and decided to see what the improvements the intake offered, 3rd gear floored it and on hitting 4k revs approx 60mph the engine totally cut out.

The incidents as intitially posted occurred and the mechanics followed revos instructions, and dismantled the fuel pump again which uncovered no issued. They eventually checked the fuel filter and the mechanic said that it was in hell of a state, clogged with thick black substance. They emptied the crap blocking the filter and replaced the filter with a new one, and took it for a lengthly test run which highlighted no issues.

I have driven it since and touch wood no issues but cannot feel any significant performance difference with ITG intake, if any anything i feel that my carbon speed intake provided more power. I may be wrong but the ITG just seemed to add the sound at the moment but little performance.
Does this seem right to you guys with the ITG ???

What revo settings do you find the best for everyday performance ?

As described earlier it may be worth while for members to check their fuel filters, to prevent having simalar issues

Cheers
