what kind of diagnostics you had run on your car? i can get a snapon fault code reader that does a fair few cool things.

downside is it would cost you, as its a hefty piece of kit.

i know its had more than 1 Vagcom and the faults on that for the crank sensor have been cleared with a new one.

Its also been mentioned that a diagnostics test on throtte has been done to eliminate the TB as the problem.

There was talk of hooking something up to it to test the fuel pressure but as i managed to get a fuel pump down there he said it would be cheaper to just stick that on...

PROGESS!!!

right,

latest conversation with Midland VW...tried a new TB and no different.

Unplugged the air flow metre and the car runs fine !!! no cutting out no dying runs as it should. They have just thrown it on the there new DYNO and my 8v pulled 130 bhp followed by 131 bhp !!!!!!!

He now thinks my car has never had a fully working air flow meter since ive owned it as he said the whole car is just faster and top end of the revs just keeps pulling.

Ive been told i can have it back and run it with the air flow unplugged but they would prefer to get another new one in and give it me back tomorrow..

is this light at the end of the tunnel.......???

LOL.....

he asked my what my MPG was like and i said it varied and he said it would probably get better and that what the car was doing was probably not reflected on the computer.

final price £190 - which for them having my car over a week i dont think is to bad at all...

Been advised to get a second hand ECU and TB if possible as with the flow sensor plugged in its still a bag a crap but with out it the thing drives fine.
