To be honest do what you need to do,

If you have an itch for an evo and you can afford one then go for it, been considering this myself have an itch for a evo too be a evo7 for me though.

If you ever fancy selling a few bits i am here for now so a wouldnt mind you fireing them my way.

Sorry to hear your having second thoughts, i was looking forward to seeing this finished! Is it going back to standard or just leaving it as it is and selling the bits you've bought?

Evo's are good but are you not put off with the servicing and running costs compared to the Cupra?

Stick with the Cupra, everyone loves an underdog ;) Especially when you see the look on the guy's face when you outpace his shiny new RS4

Intresting thoughts mate,

Not everyday you can have the chance to purchase an evo or somthing similar. Ive been thinking about a bike or a nice powered rwd motor recently so i no what the itch is like. You still have some time to think about it mind, See if you can sort out a test drive in the evo your after and a similar spec cupra might help you make up your mind on what ticks all the boxes. Then weigh up all the costs etc.
IMO the new evos with all the tech stuff take "the driving" out of the driving if that makes sense, dont get me wrong there safe and drive and handle very well id imagine but driving it on the road could it be as much fun as the cupra at hybrid power which could give you a few "moments" every now and again. how often do you manage to drive all out on snow and gravel in london..
Its your choice in the end though mate so do what you think will make you happy.

Have to say I agree with Robbie and Jamie, you have come this far with the car and I think you will change your mind once you have gone hybrid bud:) As you have mentioned decisions decisions though, all the best with whatever you decide!

Havent posted for a while now. New job has left me with no spare time :(

Car is abit sick at the moment. Failed its MOT on the ABS sensor, bought another one and whilst fitting it noticed its pissing brake/clutch fluid from somewhere. Braided hose on the passenger side is nice and tight, so not sure. My clutch pedal sticks abit when disengaging it, so im thinking it might be the clutch cylinder leaking. Its booked into AMD Essex on sat morning to get everything sorted. Not driven it for over a week aswell :(

Im stuck in abit of a dilemma now. Just started a new job with a nice salary increase. I have ALWAYS had an itch for an Evo. Started looking at a few last night and ive got a bigger itch for one now. Just feel so drawn towards a quick 4WD can with real tune ability. My dilemma is i have everything i need to take the car to KO3Hyrbid standard. Im wondering if i should sell up in 6-7 months or finish the project i started?

Love my Ibiza to bits, best car i have owned, it feels like a child i have raised and would feel really guilty selling it but i feel its time. Looking at Evo 7's but have my heart set on an Evo8 MR FQ320. Around the 12k budget. Would like to get around 4.5k for my ibiza as its in good condition with nice mods. Then sell the ko3 hybrid, injectors, air filter, gauges and various other bits to help fund the Evo and then just put the difference in myself.

Anyone have any thoughts?

No dont do it !
you still wont catch me
is it cause you seen the one that comes to the dognut meets?
the interiors are crap m8 , and you wont find a freindly bunch like us on jap forums , go bigger than the ibiza , Leon or maybe edition 30 , these mapped rake in evo's on the move mate but if its its traffic light grand prix you after then go 4wd.
if you need vag com you know i am local.

Hey Rob, nothing to do with that Evo that comes to the meets mate. Im pretty sure an Evo would leave most Leons on the twisties, but like you said from a rolling start the leon would have the edge, unless its an FQ400 ;)

Was just a fleeting idea and IF i did get one it would be in 9months or so time. Tempted by a late MK1 LCR, prices are good at the moment. Just want to get the ickle ibiza back up and running

Evo 's are nice mate but dont think i could live with the constant visits to the petrol station , i think they have quite a small tank , also the frequent service intervals unless you are thinking of a new one ?
well perhaps you need to drive my leon mate
might change your mind?

My ABS is playing up as well... Think it might be because I haven't bled one side of my 4-pots and the pads have totally been shot.

Let us know how you get on bud (which I'm sure you will!)

Riiiiight, decision made. Im going to get the cupra in perfect working order. Going to fit my new side skirts, get my bumper resprayed, get my n112 sorted and just generally get her tip top to sell.

So let the vultures descend.. all my KO3 Hybrid bits including the brand new turbo, injectors, forge boost controller, and large jetex filter are or for sale.

Going to stump up and by myself a MK1 LCR. Want something with 4 doors and abit more refined.

Comments welcome as always
