well i put in £20 the other night, gave ma a half tank, im just brinking on a quarter now and iv only done like 26 miles........ , i dont know what to do, i dont want to go and replace everything and there appears to be no leaks, how do i reset the ECU back to what it was from factory? not that ive messed about with it!! and do u think i need a new fuel filter maybe? after all i have never changed it and the cars 7 years old.... a friend of mine said her car was losing fuel rapidly and she was to get the fuel filter changed, dno if it fixed it, as like i said i have no leaks!!!! RAGE!!!! i hate the 3 cylinder fuel drinker, better off with a cupra. ALL HELP WELCOME!!!!
hey mate i work next to seat and they told me that the 3 cylinder engines are common
for inlet and exhaust valves leaking which could be wots happening to yoursdoes it run ok???? maybe try a compresion test
I think it is time you took it to a pro for a service and diagnosis at least (well next year now) personally I wouldn't feel very comfortable running the car knowing something is wrong I would be worried there could be damage being done.
rite well another rant about fuel, £34 got me 3/4 of a full tank and this was superunleaded and look at the miles i got,
oh look 175.3 miles to 3/4's of a tank, i honeslty give up, thats standard airbox and panel filter
under 60 miles per quarter tank.....thats worse than a petrol cupra
my bro is the pro, hes an ex-seat mechanic time served, he has a few ideas and is gonna give it a good service for me, its just he's a busy guy to get time from to come fixing my problems, hes got alot of his own stuff to be doing, and i aint taking it to seat for them to rip me off. i could get a full service for about £40 from my bro, no labour costs.
he works for audi in Ayr but just been sent to VW for a couple of weeks to coiver i think, well Colin does do homers what u needing done like? service?
well naw am needin my new gear and handbrake gaiter on...and i'd give him 40quid for his time lol say to him if you want, every little helps at this time of year ha
Remember your comission Scott in the pricing.
Ive heard the EGR valves are prone to cause problems on the 1.2's. Lets hope its an easy fix and you economical again.
If it makes you feel any better I put £10 in the other night and only got 61 miles from it....
Seems my car can drink when it feels like it!
