rite well another rant about fuel, £34 got me 3/4 of a full tank and this was superunleaded and look at the miles i got,

oh look 175.3 miles to 3/4's of a tank, i honeslty give up, thats standard airbox and panel filter

under 60 miles per quarter tank.....thats worse than a petrol cupra

im wondering if your fuel float is faulty so telling you that you have less fuel than you do,might be worth carrying a jerry can of fuel in the boot and seeing how many more miles you can get after the fuel light comes on.
if you get another 100 or so miles out of the tank after the light comes on then you know that the float or a sensor in the tank is the problem.
thats just a guess im assuming you havent ran your car completly out of fuel before.

Think my fr gets about 350-400 from 35 quid haha

Think its the wheels matey, would get plenty more mpg if you got rid of them

Normaly costs me circa £43 to fill it with V Power and normaly get 210-230 miles from a tank.

But thats just town driving, vertualy no motorway driving if any...

i dont miss them days! My old sri did about the same sorta miles to a tank, cost me a fortune, 60 mile a day commute

When was the last time you changed the spark plugs, oil and oil filter?

Don't use super unleaded, makes no difference, i put some in mine and all that happened was it used more of it!

Is there a leak any where?

does sound a bit odd but maybe it the gauge and the cars computer, you obviously have no way of knowing visually you have used all that fuel must be bad fuel sensor?! My mate ahas an RS turbo that did mpg similar to that cost him a fortune tog et to work until it blew up!

Full service, spark plugs, oil filter and oil change.
Then fill it to thr brim, and drive it till it runs out of fuel altogether (carry gerry can).

You wont suddenly lose control. It'll splutter for a bit, kangarooing down the road for about half a mile, then just coast to a stop. Brake assistance and power steering and all will still work assuming your battery doesnt go flat

Even at that the steering won't that heavy as you'll be moving, brake are just "hard" - make sure you are not on a dual carrageway or something like that.

i think you should get an diesel fr

get a full service, and just stick to regular fuel, super unleaded didnt do me any favours when i had the 1.2, only costs more and burns quicker.
what does your brother think about it? has he had any 1.2s in his work with the same probem? im asuming he is still a seat mechanic lol

not sure tbh, better look into tht, panel filter is just new in a week or so.
