My cold air feed kit is currently non existent so i went to ebay and found a cold air feed kit, complete with 1 metre neoprene ducting, 2 nice silver polished trumped endings for the ducting and some cable ties thrown in for good measure.

Going to try and get it fitted tomorrow as im starting to get a back log of various bits clogging up my room.

A few pics of the kit.

Cheers Robbie, im wondering if 1metre is going to be enough now. Too bloody cold and dark to go out and check, but i hope the length is enough. I suppose it doesn't have far to travel, going to put it behind the front bumper and run it straight up and get it as closed to the jetex as possible.

This is the kit mate, your a lucky bugger, its dropped in price since i ordered it last week. But for the price its really good, strong sturdy ducting and the trumpet ends are really nice, comes with 5 zip ties aswell. Going to give it a go at fitting tomorrow, if im brave enough to withstand the cold weather:cartman:

Eh? N/A cars don't suffer from heatsoak anywhere near as much as turbo cars.....How would a cold air feed not benefit a turbo car?

Because you have an intercooler, which should drop AIT's, your turbo inlet, which is what your cold air feed is attached to goes to a turbo, which is attached to a manifold that runs like 800 degrees.

A few degrees colder goin into your intake is goin to do next to nothing. If you want to try it just go out logging and do a with and without cold air feed log of AIT's and you'll see zero difference.

Think about it.

And its not heatsoak on a N/A, colder air is denser and burns more efficiently, thats why its better on a an N/A car.

I don't think its a waste of money. Surely cold air coming from a feed hitting the air filter has got to be better than just hot air coming from the engine? Granted, its not going to give you any performance gain, but the air will be cooler than having no cold air feed at all.

J@mes proved this on his LCR, with fitting the largest CAI increased his g/s, clearly showing the importance of a decent air intake

I logged: a BMC with cold air feed, Dynatwist with cover and cold air feed, dynatwist without cover and an open cone filter with no feed. All on the same night.

No difference in AIT's in all logs, and about 10g/s difference between an open cone and the BMC.

Enough proof thats the gain for the money is neglible at best.

Just look at some seriously big turbo setups, they stick the filter right on the end of the turbo with no feed or anything.

I have always ran cold air feeds and will continue to do so
