Alpine IDA x305 2 quick questions...

Hi there,

I just bought myself the Alpine IDA-X305 and was trying to install it today. With no luck. Hope someone here can help me out.

There are 3 connectors in my Leon which where fitted into my orginal Aura headunit: a black one, a brown one and one with 3 colors in it (yellow, green and blue if I remember correctly). The black and brown one will fit right into my alpine connectors. The one with the 3 colors in it...don't no where to put it. So I assumed that I will need a wiring harness like one of these:
w ww.rondevries.nl/index.php?pagina=2&page=producten_bekijken/product.php&hoofdgroep=4&subgroep=86&sorteren= (RDV 450501 or the 450502 or 450503). But the posts above say that I don't need them...

Where does the connector goes with the 3 colors? And is this the connector that provides the power? Because with only the brown and black connector, the radio won't come on.

And what does the booster which goes into the aerial adapter? Found it online but don't know what is does:
w ww.incarexpress.co.uk/view_product.php?partno=PC552 Can someone tell me?

Don't no if there's any difference to the Leon from the UK and from the Netherlands. I assume not that much..

Thx for any help!!

the blue, green and yellow ones are ignored, just use the brown and black ISO plugs,if you havent connected up the red and yellow wires they are the power (permanent and ignition) it needs to be:
yellow-red
red-yellow

in order to save the memory.
the booster is used to keep radio reception if yours is very poor.

Yes, the radio works. Only the speakers won't work. So the radio works and stuf. I hear the beeb when pushing the buttons on the headunit. But I can't hear sound thru the speakers. Any idea what that can be?

Edit:

It works! The previous owner had a imprint and I haven't. So the settings must be different. Thx for the help!

Maybe one additional question. Can you buy a cover or a case for the part from the headunit what comes of? I've only got a sock, but no hard plastic case or something...

Don't know exactly what you mean, sorry. But there is a original part from Alpines to order this accessory?

Quick question about a remote for the IDA headunit. I want to order one. On the site of Alpine, it just says that I need a RUE-4202. They don't specify that. So I was watching ebay (original remote is cheaper there then in the Netherlands): h ttp://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=Alpine+RUE-4202+Remote&_trkparms=65%253A12%257C66%253A2%257C39%253A1%257C72%253A2464&_sticky=1&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_sop=15&_sc=1

But on ebay sellers specify different RUE-4202 remotes: for the CDA headunits en for the IDA headunits. A remote for a IDA headunit costs more then for the CDA. But on the site of Alpine they don't talk about different RUE-4202 remotes.

Can someone tell me if a seller from a RUE-4202 specially made for the IDA headunits (which they say) is just telling bullsh*t to get more money for it?

Nope...says nothing about a remote. Only a remote which can be fitted on the steeringwheel. Search in the pdf file, so I searched for remote and RUE (the type of the remote) and found nothing... Maybe I will contact Alpine tomorrow...
