That's great that you almost have it totally finished so you can enjoy it! Bit crap that winter is here though! Are you keeping it off the road or just going for it?
Any power/torque readings so far?
We need some videos!!![]()
All sounds good robbie, get it back and ill pop over say hi with mine
I woulda just pulled the driveshaftt cup off instead of moving the wishbone, you gotta drop the fluid anyway.
Diff is amazing isnt it?![]()
How much more do you think you could get from this setup now bill with rods, clutch and diff?
Nice to see them compared side-by-side like that
Out of interest Bill - would OE rods generally show any signs of stress/fatigue if they were about to bend or can they simply give at any time?
OK I've been in touch with Backdraft to book the car in for a Helix 6 PUK clutch, lightened (6.5KG/14lb) flywheel and fitting of my Peloquin diff for early November before it gets carted back to Bill for some IE forged rods for peace of mind
I was tempted to push my luck with the VR6/G60 clutch/flywheel setup though I'm not convinced it will stand up to the torque delivery and I don't want to have to fit another one 6 months down the line if it did start slipping
Also looks as if JBS will shortly have their new manifolds in stock so I can send my old one back for a straight-swap. Good job I decided not to wait for it to become available before finishing the build! (not that I'm likely to fit it now anyway, pending how well the INA mani holds up)
they would go at any time..
occasionally I have seen pictures (not it 1st hand yet) of a bent rod coming out, which was bent just about 50mm down from the piston..
usually catstrophic poling out of block failures when they go
you pave the pay with these for BT power levels
