Got to say there are a lot of variables here on getting an accurate run! Seems all a bit hit and miss to me, not doubting you have a powerful car with those mods it will be rapid and very powerful.

However the gearbox is an unchanged variable, why would a stage 1 car have any more or less losses than a stage 2 car. The parts are the same and they are doing the same job, so losses should be comparable. You can allow a few hp either way for run variances and tolerances of the gearbox parts from one car to another but there wouldn't be 20hp difference.

Slipping and jumping cars means were adding a further variable that ultimately effects the result. Maybe they need to apply more braking load to the rollers if the car is of a high power output just seems an inefficient method of measuring power output to me if they are fighting the car and struggling to keep it strapped down.

Agree totally Mark! I'm pretty sure it's the extra load squashing the tyres that's causing the extra drag. It's like one of those roller things you can put a pushbike onto to turn it into a exercise bike, the more you wind the roller into the bike tire, the harder it is to pedal. Whatever drag there is on the overrun is the same on the power run so it has to be added together. Main thing is I've got around 50 more whp and 70 more ft/lb over my stage 1 figs. Maybe everyone can chip in for the petrol to drive to JKM at Portsmouth and then we can have yet another set of figures to ponder!

Loved your car Ken really is a beast, and thanks for the little spin, can't believe how loud that ITG sucks, also thanks for asking Rob to put the Revo trial on was an awsome drive back to bristol, just hope in the morning that it is still on the car :D

Alot of guys at the RR day thought that the RR was under reading or didn't get anywhere near what they was expecting, (a few mapped LCR's i think) so when it was time for Simons yellow cupra to go on i wasn't expecting much but it pulled a very healthy 262bhp and mine pulled a very healthy 257bhp both standard. Just shows how much more power a stage2+ cupra has got, over 100bhp more than a standard cupra :O

Totally agree with you there Z. My car made 396bhp on a run :-o till they realised it was spinning the wheels from 5k to redline - shame really cos i got really excited for a few seconds.

The 12th @ Awesome looks like its going to be a real battle of the mk2,s. See youv,e got your new code so should be a fair fight:funk:

That could sound about right. On JKM's rollers stage 1's are pulling approx 275-280 ish bhp, add 50 and you get 325-330bhp, like my car makes. So we have either JKM's rollers are under reading or the other rollers are over reading. As i'm always sceptical the " too good to be true " keeps spinning in my head.

The thing is though, its either JKM's r/r is right and every other r/r is wrong, or the other way round.

I know which I believe to be correct.

I'm looking forward to it, always great to get similar cars together on the same RR.

I'm not expecting mine to be up near the top, but maybe closer than before ;) I don't like making predictions. APR are still well known for playing it safe, so we'll have to see what happens when the ITG is fitted.

I am waiting on the fitment of yours before I make further movement to change mine Mark. I am very interested in flow figures as well as the ultimate output/graph vs the Dbilas.

It was not meant as a negative comment Rob ;)

The thing is this. I have used the same r/r for all my runs. On the cars first run, it made 257bhp the same day a stage 2 Astra VXR made 268bhp, a stock VR6 Golf made 178bhp and various other cars which all made what was expected including a stock Civic Type R at 196bhp etc.

At every other run since that day, my car has produced numbers which are in line with other similar cars on here within minutes of other cars getting what is expected of them on the same rollers - like an RS4 making 403bhp, mostly stock MK1 Focus RS making 220bhp Rob Dons Leon making 317bhp etc, all of which are expected from the cars.

I therefore have a hard time swallowing the logic that my car actually makes 20bhp less than has been measured on a properly calibrated rolling road that other cars make expected figures on based on the results of one single rolling road that gives lower figures for one type of car than any other r/r.

Regardless, I am happy that I have tracked the progress of the car at various stages regardless of peak bhp and ft-lb figures.

kENS POWER FIGURE

Ken take your car to JKM and prove your power as you seen on the weekend most cars that are standard power made standard power apart from a few which are known to make over anyway, in fact a lot of 1.8t's were down. I personally feel your car is making the power you can feel a strong car when running it and yours definitely is. It would be really interesting to see what you get down there.
