Update

The saga is still not over!!! I was suppose to get my car back today TILL i got a call today says. Gearbox is back in and when we started it theres a ticking noise coming from the gearbox area and we think its the release bearing as it goes away when dipping the clutch, and the warrenty might not pay for that!!! I said I could accept that but it wasnt making that noise when it came in and you dodgy buggers have had the box in pieces so how you can make that assupmtion, get it :censored::censored::censored::censored: sorted before I seek legal action... I await his phone call.

Im realy fed up now with all there bull:censored: and just want my car back, 3 weeks :censored::censored:

the release bearing is ticking, how lol there not on a fork like the usual setups that can get the kocking/ticking noise as the locators have gone, ive just done a box on the saxo and the guy didnt want to pay for a bearing even tho i advised him and it ticks a bit, but its on his head, centrics hardly go wrong apart from hydraulic leaks so they have done somthing wrong. Could be the dual mass causing it and will turn from a tick to a nock.

advice.

take it to another garage, even if its a dealer. half of these garages dont even know how a gearbox works, let alone put one back together properly. Or ring SEAT UK, Google their number and ask to speak to a supervisor in Customer Services who can make decisions.

If you still arent getting anywhere, go and seek a solicitor, you might have to pay for an hour, but it will be worth it and youll get a decent letter out of them to send to the garage , making sure you copy in Seat UK ofcourse.

i think the 3rd gear whine is a common thing on most 6 speed boxes we have many people asking about them there probs is fix but most leave it as it is. including me mine does it all the same.
i know people have changed the oil and still the same problem of the noise

So nada to worry about then? Will it escalate into a failure at some point, so its better to fix it before something else breaks as well?
