...im unsure i defo know it will do more due to calicating the ratios which come out at 254mph 7500 in 6th lol

you just need to find that long road in a vacuum and you will be spot on... ;)

The Moons, M25 orbital ring road should suffice, safely away from other road uses to boot. breaking calipers? :wtf: you really scare me... you really do

breaking very heavily from 170+mph that would exert massive forces to which it wasn't designed for. how heavy were you on the brakes / what speeds were you at when that failure happened?

moderate breaking would only subjected the carrier to similar forces regardless of what hub its fitted to?
a MK.4 golf is heavier than a MK.2 Caddy, so i'd of thought that failure could well of happened on the original car

hay it didnt snap the oringel brake hub holes or adaptor so the calipars are strong eneogh , (dose help if u make sure everythings tight before hand;)

brakes now re modifyed , better idea

after more tunieing ive burnt the clutch out so a more updates to come im affraid as clutchers dont like 8/15/21psi of boost thowing thew it, so going for a 5paddle cermic clutch next ,, see how that performs lll so a few more updates im affraid guys

update , stock dual mass/clutch buggard holds 8psi on stock dual mass, then turning boost up to 15/17psi the dual mass is buggard and friction plate slipping, so replaced the stock dual mass with a solid steel singal mass and bought a 5 paddle type clutch instead reckon i get a 40percent increase in holding power (so the clutch guy states after the run in period )
how true this is time will tell ,
, decied to go for a 5 paddle clutch instead of the 3 paddle type as it will be a bit less graby and ok for road use few pics

also noticed ive been havin a few intake air problems as the intake temps have been reading wrong , causeing hold back , this was due to when i sent some settings to the ecu via easytherm there wernt the correct values , so nicely alterd them as well and aded another sensor

Good work as always fella :)

Think those brakes, breaking at over 160 would have been very scary :-o
cheers , ps i think were havin a bit of confusion regards brakes and ive also found the faults which sure i meations , the brakes were fine, problem was the amount of braking force was on on the front and buggar all on the rears , as i fitted rear conpansators , which was a problem , but this is the joys of modifying a vechical , so now im fitting some twin pot wilwoods ,on the front so lets see how these perform of to pick these up tomoz
so ill be changeing the front brake set up
adding my new clutch
and changeing the steering rack as theres a bit of play in that buggar too ,(ight as well while itsin bits lol ,once ive sort these mirror probs , ill be back with more tuning of the engine ,
more fuel useage arriveing too ,,as i aim to push the engine that bit further 25psi as im at 20 now ,,lol

Hello Powernut.

I, like Aimez, have been reading and enjoying your thread on the other VW forum (UK-MkIVs) and did not realise you were a member on here with a similar thread. I have looked at your other project, the beetle and am amazed at that as well. [B)] Have you put a vr6 engine in a Polo or am I thinking of someone else?

I have questions about your brakes, firstly how on earth did you break the carriers, did the sliders seize up? Are you (or have you) going to upgrade the brake discs, putting bigger and/or grooved discs on the car, as I see you have recently added better callipers?
