Hey matey. I like the red lip, looks a bit Time Attack like I said but still, suits your car well :).

Glad you're getting to the route of your problems with the car, I hope anyway. I was a bit naughty last night after feeling a bit let down by the car at AMD so took her for a burn. I think my MAF is starting to go but only just and also the temp sensor is a little off but I 'tested' her out. All seems well in general but I think I might have found a boost leak which appears to be intermittent...the TIP isn't seated on the turbo correctly so I'm hoping that's the issue. I can't find any other places where it could be leaking from.

Cheers mate, glad you (and Brad) like them.

Sorry to hear you're having issues too, hope you get to the root of it all. As for mine, AmD have already looked for leaks, changed the MAF and the temp sensor (at my expense) and it didn't seem to make any difference! I can't wait to find out what is causing it all, I feel like a bit of a wally in that Smart car...

I've been frequenting a couple of local Subaru Forums that my friends are members of and there might be another issue, for me at least. The two local Shell garages seem to have a dodgy batch of V-Power of which I dumped nearly 40L in. They're all reporting lumpyness and less responsiveness so perhaps I got shafted here too.

Do they let you bring the Smart Car all the way back to Surrey then until they're done with your car?

Dodgy petrol may be an issue, but i think it's unlikely.

Yes, they let me drive it wherever I want until they're done ragging my baby as long as it has petrol in it when i bring it back. I do like it, but the gearshift is awful and it feels like its gonna tip over half the time. I think I'm just spoiled...

Are you sure you want a polybushed DBM, they can be harsh as hell.
Better off with INA or THS ones.
Red lip looks good BTW

uuuuh I dunno what one is going on to be frank, I figured they'd all be similar. I'll check with them now, cheers willie

Those of you who were at the AmD RR day on Sunday will have noticed that I was having a little power problem. You can see the figures above after my map, and since the car had acclimatised to it (and been to Germany and back) I was expecting something closer to 260. The temperature was lower too, so I had big hopes. Anyway, she ran a 227 and a 233 with around 250 lb/ft! Not what I was hoping for. So I dropped her off there this morning along with the standard airbox and they will be having a fettle. After bypassing the dv she was flowing 205g, which is about 15g more than with the 007 so I think the DV is being held open or something? Anyway, watch this space for an update.
Also, after reviewing the video from the RRday Dav3 noticed it looked like the engine mount was shot. I had a look and agreed, so after confirming that it is knackered with AmD I'm having them sort me out with a proper poly DBM, they are fitting it as I type.

Also, I'd like to get people's opinion on my latest addition. When I put the first one on, I thought "oh bawbags, that looks a bit gash" but after doing the other 3 and living with it for a few days, the more I see them the more I like them. So what is the consensus on the red lip? I am considering taking them off.

It's less orangey in real life and also matches my JoinCRASH.com stickers (which by the way I have lots of if anyone's interested, just got black as well as red).

Glad that the car is getting sorted, still left me for dust in the tunnel, and after sunday I want MORE POWER [:@]

after seeing the rims on sunday I like the effect they give, nice little touch to the rims, although with the tape they might get tatty after a while and cleaning so you might get fed up with them then.....

What would these stickers be looking like then, im very against speed bumps, I have added 2 miles to my journey to work to avoid some now as they kill my car and my bottom!

Yeah, I agree but I think it might be one of a few little things making up a larger issue.

always a bugger when you cant nail it down to one problem, im hoping a remapping will be the end of my sooting problem!

Slightly off issue but mentioning fuel made me chuckle as to what i accused of....

I got accused of nicking a tank of diesel out of an edburtons mercedes dumper truck thats building a new unit at our offices as I turned up to work rather early with a full tank of fuel and then the workmen turned up to find it had been drained of fuel overnight

Right now I have red and black, if there is more interest then I'll order some other colours.

The black ones are exactly the same only the J is capitalised - just like it was supposed to be on the red ones

I might be able to accomadate one, I have signed up online ;)

Hey EmDee

I'm liking the red strip - certainly suits your car bud.
I know what you mean about them looking a bit "gash" at first, but they don't look tacky at all, nice job.

I notice you have Vrederstein ULTRAC SESSANTAs on. Would you recommend these?
Always been a fan of Vredesteins if only for purely cosmetic reasons! They do look the bees knees.

Nice car bud :D

Cool, thanks mate.

The Vredesteins are amazing. I've only put around 1500 miles on them so far so I don't know what they're like towards the end of the tread life, but they stick like glue, especially in the wet. 10/10 so far. I was passing all sorts of things on the Nurburgring in the rain and was glued to the arse of a 300bhp scooby the whole way round. If it wasn't my first ever lap I woulda tried outbraking him. Anyway, I put it all down to the tyres.

If you're after a sticker just send me a PM with the address for me to send it to and l'll sort you out for the cost of the postage. ;)

Nice one bud!

I had some vredesteins sportracs on my old A3 & they too were great in the wet. I jusr wondered as most people on here seem to go for the usual Falkens, Eagles & so on. Good to hear they're good, I'll be getting some when mine need replacing then - with the bonus of a great looking tread pattern to boot!

I'll PM you now then, but I'll pay for the postage, I can send a stamped addressed envelope if that's easiest mate - so if that suits you just PM me an address to send it to. :D

Thanks again :)

The wheels look good Martin, I did'nt get a chance to have a proper look at them on Sunday but they look Ok in the pic's.
Dav3 said to me about the movement in your engine last night and it does look a lot.
The INA engine mount's are a lot more money compared to the polybush one.

Cheers guys, I ended up getting the powerflex poly one as thats what they had in and the price was right. They sorted the power issues, it feels a lot better on the road, but since Kenny wasn't there when I picked her up I don't know the details, I'll fill you in tomorow after I've called and spoken to him.

And R69, if you want those tyres they're on special offer right now at camskill:

clicky clicky

Thats where I got mine, i don't think you'll beat that price!

and no, i dont work for them :D
