Awesome road tyre DPJ but i've not tracked the LCR although it would be fun to. T1-R's no good on the track at all? I want to Nurburg it before I sell it and I don;t think the Falken 452s on at the mo are the best choice although I am very happy with them on the road.

I don't think the 452s are as good as T1-Rs. I've tried a set and I'm not impressed.

i have the falkemn 912 and there really good on the road and i noticed that the handling is a lot better with them on as i feel there a stiff tire

I found that once I got big power the falkens just couldnt cope with 380lb/ft of torque. Although they are performaing a lot better with the v3's I must say. Either way I am going to T1Rs.

T1R's will definitely handle that torque as I have them on my car that currently produces 365 lb/ft torque at 371.3 bhp and this is with heat soak....fitting a forge race intercooler and WMI kit this weekend so according to Robs stats mine should produce more torque and power (I think)...

I've heard they can be quite dangerous on anything but a dry or very slightly damp track/road. For fast road/occassional track use I'd much rather go with Hankook RS-2 Z212's, they are very good in both wet/dry and road/track, a great all-rounder, the R888's are really only for dry track use - even then alot of EVO, Scooby, Skyline, etc. owners don't like them as they go off too quickly and you only get about 4 trackday max. from them ... so I've read.

I'll be getting Hankook RS-2's for next year.
I've had R888's on the front for a short while.
On very smooth, greasy wet roads it looses traction a bit, on normal wet roads the traction seems fine (not been pushing too hard as don't want the traction to fail) on dry or damp roads the traction is great. On standing water like big puddles:drive2: seriously not that fun. A bit like your standard shitty brand tyres but still very driveable at a slower and more careful speed

Yeah it's not until sometime in 2011 so we have perhaps 18 months to 2 years. The debate is raging about this but one conclusion seems to be that the tyre manufacturers will come up with something within in the new rules/guidelines. If nothing else it may just push them to develop road tyres even further?

Dont get me wrong they are good tyres especially for the value. However what I have found is once they have scrubbed past the 50% mark their predicatbility goes. Slick and I went for a blast yesterday to see how good the the V3 setup and ATB Diff worked together and we found that when pushing the car we were both uncertain what the limit was. I would say that the F1s I had before were much more predictable.

No idea, probably pretty good tyres if the GSD3's were anything to go by.

I have received my roll of 2m x 1.4m black alcantara and high-temp contact glue. I am going to cover my headliner with it soon, so updates on that with pics once I get underway with that job!

INA baffled sump will be fitted soon too. :D

I'm not like you guys...
they won tyre of the year in 2007, just thought with all the power you running you would like something with a bit more grip than hankook's etc. We class them as economy tyres in work.

Goody F1 Asymmetic, Michelin Pilot Sport 2, Pirelli P Zero Rosso, Dunlop SP9000 are all tyres people seem to be happy with. I would personally steer clear of Continental's..

Opinions on the Goodyear Eagle F1 Assimetric's?

I've been trying the assymetrics on the front of mine for the last 8 months. I've found they don't seem as grippy as the GSD3s and also seem to be wearing quite quickly. I've managed 2 track days out of them but the sidewalls haven't stood up to it very well. I've now got a set of R888 on the Pro Race 2.1s that Rob's got on his. Muuuch better!! But only in the dry. So for the road I'll probably be going back to the GSD3s which I've been using on all my cars over the years now and had at least 3 sets on the LCR.
