Ok,

So by this afternoon i should have my WMI all installed, i have a good idea of what it exactly does and why i have installed it but i was wondering if sombody in the know could give me a a quick idea of what logs i should be doing and what should be adjusted on the controler and when?

I`ve read that it should start spraying approx 1/4 of your full boost and around 3/4 of your full boost, if thats the case how come they didnt just put one setting on it? So my question is, when would i need to adjust these settings, what kind of behavioir should i be looking for while twiddling the knob?

I understand that i can adjust the timing looking at block 020 but what other blocks should i be logging and what blocks together?

I dont have a AFR gauge at the moment :( (on order from this afternoon)so im hoping all this isnt a pointless post.

Thanks.

Well its all in and working now, that stuff doesnt last very long does it!

Seems to have made a slight difference already without any tweeks made, very happy with it so far but could still do with abit of help on what to log and using the controller to fine tune the spray.

Please :(

What size nozzle are you using?

If it starts spraying too low down the rev range, you may find it quenches your combustion. Aim for max delivery by the time you hit max boost (assuming a boost sensing kit)

Start with a low mix - ie 25% methanol.

Log your intake temperatures to see what difference it makes.

Once you're satisfied there, try logging 020 CFs (along with another block that shows revs like 003 - good because it shows timing too)

If you have no CFs, try advancing the timing a bit using Unisettings/Lemmiwinks - and log CFs again.

If all is well, increase the % mix to 33% - then 40% - then maybe 50%.

Be aware it's really hard to tell if you are using too much methanol until on the rollers. Don't go to high volumes / % until you've seen a RR run you are happy with.

-If you're only using it to cool intake temps (and not increasing timing), use the lowest % mix you can get away with (based on logging intake temps)

Cheers Dave, some great info there!

I`m currently using a DO4 nozzle as its what came with the kit i bought (2nd hand) Bill has said it "should" be ok as it came off a stg2 LCR which is basicly what im running in the Ibiza, How will i know if i need to change down?

I actully used some 50/50 mix yesterday that Nick had left over when i bought his kit, but that went pretty quickly!

I`ll now do what you said this evening and get some logs up.

When you say quenches your combustion, do you mean basicly throwing to much in and make the car buck? If so i had that last night when i planted it in second, at the moment i have it to start spraying at 6 and hit full at 15 - currently my boost is spiking at 25psi.

Im going to be booking her in with Bill to get it properly tweeked, but i`d just like to understand and maybe tweek abit myself before it goes to Bills, as that would be at least 2 weeks away and thats if he`s able to fit me in then.

Do you not need to adjust the fuelling in unisettings when using the methanol?

Interesting you mention the D04 nozzle is too big as I think my kit came with a D05, bills going to weld a boss on to ally coupler and then send that and the nozzles to me (rest of the kit has been fitted and wired in)

I'm have an LCR with hybrid K04

Cheers Dave, I`ll be on the case with some logs tonight and report back!

I belive fuel is to be adjusted, if so either i`ll do it when i get my AFR gauge or when it goes down to Bill which ever comes first.

I had one of Bills boss`s welded on yesterday works a treat.

No, not normally. You'd adjust timing. I wouldn't want to do anything to make a car run leaner without very accurate reliable data to back the adjusments up.....

Meaning a wideband AFR setup?

Would not reducing fuel and chucking methanol in casue it to run slightly rich?

So its meant to be richer? , I understand stotic is for best acceleration but only How would i go about reading that figure? AFR gauge?

Sorry i must sound such a n00b, well i am to this :D

Do you run a AFR gauge Dave?

What kind of AFR readings would i be looking for once i have my gauge installed and running the meth?
