If your insurance is due for renewal try Highway. I'm insured through them, £450 fully comp with bonus protected, £3000 worth of mods covered and unlimited track days with £500 excess.
Insurance would allow you to enjoy a bit more, make sure they cover you for the ring as it's not actually a race track as its a public road.

Sweet, I can't wait to see them.

How did she run? Did you get the remap in time or did you have to sacrifice that for those new tyres you needed?

Edit: Just read pages 10 & 11 and you got both :), I even replied . So how did the lowering springs contribute to the handling?

the springs are pretty good, but since they were on the car when I picked it up I dont know what sort of difference they make from standard tbh. I wasn't really pushing it since it was raining and I was stuck behind a scooby (I was too chicken to pass him but we did pass quite a few other cars).

and one on the way to the Nurburgring - note the sign pointing to Nurburg and the awesome green balloon that hung on for a few hundred miles.

I had the car remapped to an AmD stage 1 map. The pre-map figures showed 228.1bhp with 220 lb/ft and these changed to 241.5bhp and 284.8 lb/ft. The car was on and off the rollers so many times that it must have been very hot towards the end of the day when everything was working right, so I hope to see some big improvements at the rolling road day.

Those of you who were at the AmD RR day on Sunday will have noticed that I was having a little power problem. You can see the figures above after my map, and since the car had acclimatised to it (and been to Germany and back) I was expecting something closer to 260. The temperature was lower too, so I had big hopes. Anyway, she ran a 227 and a 233 with around 250 lb/ft! Not what I was hoping for. So I dropped her off there this morning along with the standard airbox and they will be having a fettle. After bypassing the dv she was flowing 205g, which is about 15g more than with the 007 so I think the DV is being held open or something? Anyway, watch this space for an update.
Also, after reviewing the video from the RRday Dav3 noticed it looked like the engine mount was shot. I had a look and agreed, so after confirming that it is knackered with AmD I'm having them sort me out with a proper poly DBM, they are fitting it as I type.

Also, I'd like to get people's opinion on my latest addition. When I put the first one on, I thought "oh bawbags, that looks a bit gash" but after doing the other 3 and living with it for a few days, the more I see them the more I like them. So what is the consensus on the red lip? I am considering taking them off.

It's less orangey in real life and also matches my JoinCRASH.com stickers (which by the way I have lots of if anyone's interested, just got black as well as red).

Hey matey. I like the red lip, looks a bit Time Attack like I said but still, suits your car well :).

Glad you're getting to the route of your problems with the car, I hope anyway. I was a bit naughty last night after feeling a bit let down by the car at AMD so took her for a burn. I think my MAF is starting to go but only just and also the temp sensor is a little off but I 'tested' her out. All seems well in general but I think I might have found a boost leak which appears to be intermittent...the TIP isn't seated on the turbo correctly so I'm hoping that's the issue. I can't find any other places where it could be leaking from.

You must have been reading my mind about the alloy red strips, i saw them sunday and thought they looked pretty good, made the wheels stand out a bit more, plus goes with the red theme of the cupra R ;) Id keep them mate, certainly different and stand out :D
