exactly, need to track down a good 2nd hand one from somewheres

wow...impressed with ur progression on the car, only a short space of time too!!

Be intresting to see how she does on the 5th ;)

Aye I've been getting a move on! Slowing down now I think. I will run out of things to do or the scary thing run into expensive things to do..!

It will be very interesting to see what she does on the 5th!! :)

Thinking I might need a new MAF before that though as she is playing up intermitantly, but unsure if it may be the intercooler pipework not being sufficient...

SEAT have one in stock anyway so I will see what happens after I can run her at full tilt!

Cheers, comments make all the effort worth it that little bit more than actually getting to drive it :D

well by the 5th ill have my custom map...so be good to see the difference between our 2 cars and see if things u have done have made a difference....i.e de-cat and Forge TIP plus the by-passes...

got my downpipe and sports cat in on monday...alot more responsive now! :)

Was hoping to have my tip on by then but looking very unlikly :(

I am setting my sights low so I don't get disapointed ;)

I went for a 3" in the end. Motorwerks didn't have any problems with mapping with it on.

Yeah thats what im doing, 220bhp im hoping for anything more the smile will grow! :D

i got the 2.5" d.p...which miltek and blueflame recomended for the car... def has made a difference to response and of course noise ha ha

Things are slowing down now after small problems after the remap!

Car kept going into limp mode (i.e. 5psi) after a while of driving. Got a few fault codes up and all pointed towards the MAF, so got another from SEAT but turns out this one is worse than my last one!! Not happy with that so going back to SEAT on monday to get them to order me a brand spanker as supposedly this one was sitting on the shelf for a while..!

To top if off when I was testing the new MAF after clearing all the codes when I got home, the N112 valve bracket snapped and fell down onto the turbo..! As you could imagine the plastic valve didn't exactly take well to the heat, and started melting. So got that out ok but need to replace it with resistors at some point. But after this happened the car was running worse than a faulty MAF which was really doing my head in because I got 9 fault codes up..!

Then to realise that the last time this happened it was a blown fuse that was the cause, and low and behold it was again this time!!

So now I just need another new MAF and then she will be going amazingly!

The guy at Motorwerks also said I can get the map flashed back on again FOC so it can be a fresh one! :)

Next up are brakes defiantly!

If you havn't lost the map then why get the map reflashed again?
This shouldn't make a difference unless they have changed this map in the mean time.

Brakes are a must, seen any more going about?
For £850 you could get the same set up as me;)

The guy said the map learns from how you drive in the first couple of days, so because it's been having problems it won't have been learning good things..! Plus if I can get it done for free I don't see why not? :)

Have you got the brembo 4-pots on yours? Did you buy up those silicone pipes for sale?

I am on the look out for wilwoods as I think they are more in my price range, got some braided hoses on their way soon hopefully, so it would also be a boost as Wilwoods are OEM fitment in regards to the hose connections.

Wilwoods should be good enough. The Brembo's might be a bit OTT in performance and cost.
not bought any silicon, I have a full set of Forge hoses fitted already.
Mine are the Brembo 4 pots very like the Junior GT kit

Are you sure it's the map that learns and not the ECU that adapts?

As you said if it's free and no hastle to get there and get it done then why not.

Your right Willie, its the ECU that adapts not the map. The map is a fixed set of parameters.

Yeah it's the ECU that adapts and not the map sorry said that totally wrong..!

Up late last night lads!

Hopefully got a set of Midilite wilwoods on their way to me! Guy on E38 was selling them as a 256mm kit but I phoned up rallydesign and they are sending me out a set of bolts to up the brackets to fit 280mm discs and a set of pads for it. So I made a deal with the guy and bought them up!
So all I need to do is sell on the brand new drilled and grooved discs that come with the kit.

Also will be getting a set of braided hoses from Bill soon, and will put some Mobil RBF600 brake fluid in so will be a good set-up hopefully!!
