Bolt in engine.

Not worth it for such an aged, unreliable engine.

Pick up a 20VT instead

Thanks for the info guys. I've only had my Seat about 8months and I've grown to love the little bugger so I really want to stick with it. Am I right in saying Chrisdaman on here supercharged an 8v?

Yep, G60 is (controversially, perhaps) just a 1.8 8V with a fairly poor supercharger.

Put a modern supercharger on your 2.0 8V, or buy a 1.8T. Neither will be cheap, but I reckon both would be better than a G60!

its definatly not just an 8v with a "poor" charger attached. i can only assume you dont own and drive a G60 powered car.

I did say it might be a controversial opinion ;)

No, I don't own one, but I've spent a fair bit of time in one. Yes, they're nice engines. However for every hour spent enjoying it, we spent two fixing it..... I think there are better (more modern, more powerful etc) engine choices than a G60!

The G chargers were great - 20 years ago. Theyre just too maintenance intensive to use as a daily runner. I know some one with an immaculate standard G40 that is damn near worshipped and its still unreliable.

Not claiming to be a guru of any sort.

Probably best if you do go out, I reckon. Jesus.

G-laders are apparently more efficeint than an eaton. and I ran a g60 corrado for years with no problems so far from unreliable. 212 bhp and 265lb/ft of torque without needing to break 5.5k rpm was what attracted me to the g60!
