back to the wip whats next?

Going to AMD Essex for a brake service (some hi-temp fluid and some ds2500 rear pads) and a stage1 remap tomorrow.:funk:

I need two new tyres before the European meet in a few weeks too, this car is costing me a fortune! I was gonna get front and rear ARBs before I went to the Nurburgring, but it looks like I'll have a remap and old tyres instead

OH DEAR!!!
More speed and less traction on OEM shocks and springs without ARB's, hhmmmm......interesting. lol
Can you get out of fitting the DS2500 to the rear??
These are less than half the thickness of the padgid ones. Bill runs OEM rear pads on his 650 BHP Ibiza.
After 50 laps of Knockhill my padgids were still all good.

Looking good :).

What colour did you get the wheels done in? Is there a paint code?

Don't have a paint code I'm afraid, it was a custom mixing job by someone on the forum.

lol well I do have Eibach springs and beefy spacers [B)]

I should have new tyres by then, that should help a lot.

I'll ask about the other types of pad they have in stock, thanks for you input willie :D

EDIT: This damn forum is costing me a fortune, I'm thinking about ARBs too now and maybe some poly bushes. Nick can sit there and prattle on about his damn coilies all he wants, he went and sold them to someone else so I'm not listening to him...

Well I had an interesting but not very productive day today (work wise). I got to AmD at about 9:30am and didn't leave till after 4pm! It wasn't really the fault of any of the AmD team, they did a great job, it was just one thing after another. First, they changed my brake fluid (to "race spec" stuff but I think it was only dot 4) and rear pads (I went with DS2500s in the end) this was made more complicated by a line blowing and pissing fluid everywhere, meaning they then had to spray the car down etc etc. Next, I had the car remapped to an AmD stage 1 map. This showed an issue with my MAF which was then replaced, along with a temp sensor (green one replaced with black one i believe) and then they changed the spring in my 007p valve to a yellow one. Unfortunately it was a very warm day and the results weren't what I was looking for, but hopefully they will get better with time. The pre-map figures showed 228.1bhp with 220 lb/ft and these changed to 241.5bhp and 284.8 lb/ft. The car was on and off the rollers so many times that it must have been very hot towards the end of the day when everything was working right, so I hope to see some big improvements at the rolling road day. I was certainly expecting more than 13.4 bhp gain after what I've seen other cars get! Anyway, a big thanks to the team at AmD for putting up with me all day :D

Torque is really what you want and you got 64ft-lbs which is heaps.
How does the car feel?
Do you have a FMIC and Phenolic gasket?
This would help your heat soak issues

Torque figure is good Martin, it will have plenty of time to adapt before the RR Day, what fuel have you got in it ???

Hmm, i "had" to have my MAF and temp sendor replaced when i got my map done, im not convinced this was legit now we both had these problems, i think just getting more money ouf of us.

That torque is very impressive mate and the hp is respectable. Dont forget you are only on 333cc injectors so you are limited to what HP you can get. I would log fuling and see where what ur injector duty cycle is.

Get a decent CIA in there mate, open cone filter are pants with out good air flow!!

Im guessing your boosting around 20 PSI with that amount of torque?

there good figuers mate, i would not be disopointed :)

Yeah I was feeling a big difference on the way home and I do realise that it's the torque that counts. The boost spikes at about 25 psi and levels off to about 22, which I thought was a lot higher than I was expecting.

@Willie - no, I dont have either, feels fantastic :D
@DK - BP Ultra
@Skorchio - I cut that hole in the bumper and fed some neoprene ducting through to the filter - see p9.
@Bassett - big difference mate on the way home I was worried it was boosting too much.
